Preaching the Word
"Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith" Romans 16:25,26
Purpose of Site
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Young are missionaries in the tropical paradise of Papua New Guinea. It is a beautiful land with rain forests and beautiful beaches on the coast. It has many lovely flowers and brightly plumed birds.
Papua New Guinea is also a land of many languages - over 800 in all. Many of those languages have no gospel witness and no portion of Scripture in their language.
Dad and Mom work in one of these languages, the Owena language. They minister to the people of the Owena village in the Eastern Highlands province of Papua New Guinea. Please pray for them, that God will bless His work there and pray that God will send forth more labourers to work with them in this harvest field.
"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith." (II Thessalonians 3:1,2)
"But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." (Matthew 9:36-38)
Unto the Uttermost
Before Mom and Dad left for the field, our church had a commissioning service for them. Mom wrote this missionary song and one of the families at church sang it at their commissioning service. May the Lord use it to speak to your heart.
Unto the Uttermost
To the church God gave commission,
Go ye into all the world,
Make disciples of all nations, Preach the word,
Tell them I have died to save them,
Rose again that they might live,
Spread the news 'til every soul on earth has heard.
In Jerusalem, Judea we have been,
In Samaria as witnesses for Christ,
But unto the uttermost
Few have dared to count the cost,
Few have cared enough to make the sacrifice.
Many nations still are waiting,
Billions never have been told,
No one yet has giv'n God's precious Book to them,
While we have in our own language
Bibles that we rarely read,
They are perishing, forever lost in sin.
Oh, dear friend, has God been calling?
Is He not worthy of your love?
Have you forgotten that He rescued you from hell?
Will some day the Lord require
Blood of lost souls at your hand?
Or to the uttermost will you the gospel tell?
