March 28. What a beautiful starry night God gave us last night! The sky was soooooo clear, and there must have been thousands of stars! The Southern Cross was low on the horizon in the southern sky so we were able to see the Big Dipper on the northern horizon. The Big Dipper looked really huge down on the horizon. Orion was clearly visible as were a couple planets, probably Mars and Jupiter, and the Milky Way. We wanted to stay out and keep gazing at the stars, but it was already after 10:00 and time for bed.
The Lord gave us a lovely, dry season day today, but very warm, humid, and sweaty this afternoon. I am thankful to be sitting down a while after a busy afternoon/early evening. It is 8:00 p.m. now. Shortly I will get a snack and have a bath, but I need to relax first.
Before school this morning, I got Jon 2:12-25 revised and ready to use for the new Bible class lesson for school. Need to print out a copy this evening for Daddy to proofread so I can get the students’ copies made before Sunday evening.
We finished phonics class a little early this morning. It was too late to start something new so we just took an early recess. Then we started and finished math class early too so we were able to finish the morning a bit before 12:00. After lunch, we had Spelling/English class which didn’t take long today either.
We were thankful to be able to get to nap a little earlier than we usually do on a Friday. After nap, I had to wash my hair, finish the grading, make biscuits, fix and eat supper, change the bedsheets, sort the laundry, do dishes, and do the laundry. So that’s why I’m very grateful to be off my feet for a while.
“12Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13et us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 14For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.” Hebrews 13:12-14
March 29, 2014. The Lord gave us another dry, sunny day today. Very warm, humid, and sweaty again this afternoon. Yesterday evening, we had the back door and some windows open until almost 8:00. Everything usually gets closed up by 6:00. Will probably have door and windows open even longer this evening as we have a fire going to heat water for bath.
No more than a dozen here for lotu this morning. People are still off harvesting their peanuts and replanting. Tomas continued with his series on “Knowing the Will of God.” His text today was John 6:39,40.
After lotu, I busied myself finding gifts for the workers at Papindo who helped Daddy with the generator, writing a couple notes of thanks to go with the gifts, finding the file for the “Bris Bilong God” (Bridge of God) tract so I can print a couple out to give with the gifts, changing verses in the file so they would be the same as those we have proofread and revised, and making the school book order for next year. We also went for a nice walk later in the morning.
This afternoon, I gave the soul-winning lesson a second proof-reading (Daddy had given it the first) and then got the students’ copy ready for printing. Also wrote a letter to go with the school book order which I will send to Christy. Then I got supper, fixed a couple small bags of peanuts to go in the above-mentioned gift bags, made granola, cleaned the bathroom, and did the dishes.
Now people are starting to arrive for discipleship class.
“15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Hebrews 13:15,16
