June 30. (Actually today is the first of July, but I will try to remember June 30’s events. Did not use the computer at all yesterday afternoon or evening.
We left the house (CRMF) around 8:00 yesterday morning, after finishing up packing and cleaning. George came by, and he helped Daddy load up the truck. Off to the hangar to weigh up, but had to wait a while, as they were loading the twin otter for its second flight of the morning. We would be the next flight. Waited around at the hangar until somewhere around 10:30. The air was cool, and the sun felt good so I sat out in the sunshine part of the time we were waiting.
There were quite a few clouds along the way to Owena, but not storm clouds. Landed safely in Owena some time after 11:00. The walk down to the house gave much pain to my knees. As I got to the bottom of the airstrip, Miriam was just finishing up making steps for me in the steep places. I was thankful for that, as the trail was very slippery — very, very dry with lots of loose dirt. The sun felt scorching as I walked along the trail. I was glad to get to the house.
Paid cargo carriers and worked on unpacking the rest of the morning. People also came with food — onions, greens, popo, bananas, pumpkin. Around noon, we sat down to eat some sandwiches for lunch. Then we had a nap. Finished up unpacking in afternoon and evening. Took care of people who came after things we had gotten for them in town. Made fish patties for supper — something quick.
After getting the rest of the clothes put away in the evening, I partially unloaded one of the drums in our bedroom, and Daddy helped me move it (the drum) up to the office. Then I carried all the other stuff up there, and loaded it back up. Rearranged a few other things in the bedroom. Then Daddy helped me move the recliner down to our bedroom.
Severah had a baby boy while we were in town, and so did Makaret.
July 1. A new month. Since we came home a day early, I took the day off to do some spring cleaning today. Washed all the curtains from our bedroom, plus a blanket, my slippers, and a few other little things. Before putting the curtains back up, I washed the bedroom windows.
For dinner, I fixed potatoes, carrots, and broccoli.
Then we had a nap, but the wind blew very hard, and was blowing on me while I was trying to rest. So my throat felt a bit sore when I got up.
Daddy went and looked over the field down below to see where to have the grass cut for the helicopter to drop off our water tank. Later Wan and Gibson came by around dinner time, and Daddy talked to them about it.
This afternoon, I figured out how much I spent in town for items for the school, and paid Daddy back for those from the school funds. Worked on some things in the computer after that and also this evening. Got quite a bit of printing done that needed to be done. Also did backups.
Serah came and did dishes, and prepared greens for tomorrow’s dinner.
"3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. 4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.” Revelation 15:3-4
July 2. A pretty quiet day. Cool and cloudy all morning. A few sprinkles of rain, but nothing measurable. Kept the fire going most of the morning. Cooked dinner on the wood stove. Daddy changed oil in generator this morning. I worked most of the day getting everything ready for starting school again. Then maybe I can work on other things the next couple days.
“These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:14
Picture below is Mom’s journal cover. Isn’t it cute? It would certainly brighten the day! She got the picture from the Image Revolution software. ☺
