September 10. It has been a rainy, foggy, cool day. The wood stove has consumed a lot of firewood. Even with the wood stove going, the house has been very cool.
It is almost 9:15 now. The young people are in the other room practicing their music. It is a joy to hear them singing. I was helping them practice, but have other things to do now. Came in a few minutes ago and got a snack. As soon as I eat my snack, I need a bath.
Throughout the day, I snatched bits of time to color the PNG emblem so the students can see how to color it on Friday when we talk about Independence Day.
Had quite a bit of grading to do this afternoon. Then I had to make biscuits for my supper, and cut up a tomato, a cucumber and an avocado. Also stopped now and then to help Bethuel who was here trying to remake his friendship bracelet that fell apart.
By the time we finished supper and I had done dishes, it was already 6:30. I had to print out some paste-overs for the students’ math books, then trim them, and paste them in their books. By that time it was a little after 7:00, and part of the group of young people were here for choir practice. Tonight they practiced “Jesus I Gutpela” and we started on “Peman I Bin Kam.”
“12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” I Corinthians 2:12,13
September 11. The stars shone brightly throughout the night, and the Lord gave us a sunshiny morning. By late afternoon, however, it was all clouded over; and this evening, there was a little rain. The weather certainly changes back and forth all the time.
Daddy got up a bit later than usual this morning. He has not been feeling well today. The cold has gone down into his chest so he started on amoxicillin. He did not feel like teaching Bible school this evening so the young people are here to practice their songs.
Had leftover pancakes for breakfast, and then it was time for lotu. Amos did much better at preaching today. We are thankful that he has a teachable heart.
Classes started early, but it was still somewhat late when we finished today. The English lesson was a bit hard for them.
After school, Bonita stayed and fixed greens, and I cooked them up this evening. They will be for our meal tomorrow. We finished up the leftover spaghetti and pumpkin for dinner today. Both of us had long naps. I just cannot get rid of this cold. One day I think I am feeling a bit better, and the next day I feel worse again.
Then I had grading to do and recording, and lessons to get ready for tomorrow.
This evening, there was printing to do.
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” I Corinthians 2:14
