May 28. The Lord gave us another dry day today. Very warm and humid again this afternoon. Several planes came and went today, one company taking loads of coffee, and SIL training another pilot.
In lotu this morning, Mike continued teaching on Stephen’s sermon in Acts chapter 7, covering verses 35-44 today.
There wasn’t much business for the students’ sale today. So far in the three days, they have brought in K174.50.
Took a little longer nap than usual today. Guess I needed a little extra rest. The rest of the afternoon and early evening, I finished today’s grading, got things together for tomorrow’s classes, prepared carrots to cook for supper, wrote the starting note for each song in our school song book so I can start them on the right key, put on a pot of rice to cook for supper; and when the rice was almost done, I started the carrots cooking, browned some onion and beef mince to add to the rice, and warmed up the greens. And did the dishes, of course, after supper.
David is here this evening with the youth group. Quite a large number of youth here this evening – around 40. David is teaching on music.
“20And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.” Revelation 9:20,21
May 29. Another dry day. More wind today than there has been so it didn’t feel quite so hot this afternoon. SDA plane came in again several times, taking out loads of coffee. There is still tons of coffee around in the three villages. It is a good coffee year - both good production and good prices. We hope the people are wise enough to save their money in case hard times come. A big drought is predicted for this year, and we hear on the news that there are already drought conditions in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Sunny, Esau, and Sosthenes looked after the store today. It was supposed to be Phinehas’s turn, but his parents asked him to come help them pick coffee so Sosthenes took his place. So far the students have made K245.40. They need to make a total of K378 before they start making profit. So they have a little ways to go yet.
“15And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.” Revelation 11:15-17
