August 29. We thank the Lord for giving us nice weather today and no rain. SIL was in several times for coffee and MAF was in once.
Before school this morning, I spent time again practicing keyboard. After Bible memory verse review, we reviewed some of the music flash cards. Then I had Phinehas, Sosthenes, Bethuel, and Mike play the scale on the keyboard. The first three remembered well how to play the scale. It was Mike’s first time, and I was surprised how well he did. He said he has never played the keyboard or a guitar or anything before. Last week, I had the four girls play the scale, and next week it will be the other four boys’ turn.
Please pray about a special, and urgent prayer request. I can’t include the details here, but Mom writes in part, “It is so heartbreaking. The Devil has come in like a thief to kill and to destroy... Thank the Lord for his promise in Isaiah 59:19, ‘When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.’ There was a lot going on in the village today too... I was feeling really sad all day today.”
By the time school was out, and other things had been taken care of, it was late before we went for nap. After nap, there was LOTS of schoolwork to grade. It took until after 4:30 to get it all done. Then I had to sort out the laundry so we could do wash this evening. Put supper on to warm and started sorting through greens that someone had brought this morning. They were already getting wilted so couldn’t wait until morning.
It is 7:30 now. I’m thankful that the laundry is done and some of the clothes are hung up in the house. I still need to make the bed, get the greens on to cook, do the dishes, and have a little bath. Daddy is busy with Bible school this evening.
