June 16. Yesterday evening, I tried to get everything else printed that I need for this coming week as it was to be the last night for the generator. However, I had forgotten about getting the pages ready for the students’ Bible class notes so didn’t get everything done. Daddy said we could run the generator an hour this evening so I can finish up.
There were a good number of ladies here for lotu this morning, and they came at a good time. Dallas was also here on time for starting so Daddy asked him to take charge of the singing. He did well at that. Mike didn’t come until later. He still is not feeling too well. Daddy and Dallas and Mike prayed at the end since they were the only men here. They said that Memedyi is sick again too. And we know that Maro’s mother and Neomi’s mother are sick as they had both been here earlier in the week asking for something to help them feel better. Again they asked prayer for three GIBC women who, they said, have been involved in the singsings.
After lotu, Sosthenes and Graham stayed to cut firewood again. We used up quite a bit yesterday.
I sorted and washed greens. Got yesterday’s journal notes written since I didn’t get time to do that last night. Finished up the letter with journal notes for Christy and Connie and got an e-mail ready to go to them. While I was doing that, Daddy swept the meeting room floor.
About 11:00 I went to the kitchen to start getting things ready for dinner. Got the greens cut up and put in the pressure cooker along with some onions. Then Daddy said he was going to go for a walk so I asked him to wait a few minutes so I could go with him. A handful of children followed us on our little walk across the airstrip and down to the edge of the ridge above the mountain stream. It was a refreshing walk. Then we came back, and I put the greens on to cook and started getting the spaghetti made.
This afternoon, I washed my hair, got combs and brushes in the wash basin to soak, washed the chalkboard, dusted the meeting room, wrote more e-mails, folded the rest of the clean clothes that were washed on Thursday, cleaned the bathroom, got the trash ready to burn, and tins ready to go out. Then it was supper time.
This evening, I finished up the printing that I didn’t get done yesterday, got the students’ Bible lessons put into their folders and then locked the cupboard and covered the bookshelf in the meeting room. That keeps kids out of trouble when they come to lotu Sunday morning. Got e-mails sent and read those that came in.
“And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.” Genesis 7:5
June 17. The Lord gave us a lovely sunshiny day today.
After breakfast and quiet time, I worked on some school materials. Also worked on the next soul-winning lesson.
People came early for lotu this morning. Only a few men were here to start with, but more came later. Amos is sick, and Tomas is still on patrol. Matthew had to do all the song leading and translating. Mike was here, but he still isn’t feeling well. Memedyi did come, but he does not look well. He really seems to have aged quite a bit in this past year.
Daddy preached on Romans 16:12-20 in the two meetings today. Since people came early, we were able to start early and finish early. Then we were able to have our nap a little earlier too.
This afternoon, I finished up the next soul-winning lesson; and this evening, I backed up everything so I can work on files in the old computer while Daddy is gone to town. He will be taking the Compaq with him as this computer is very slow with the internet.
Now it is time for soul-winning class.
“9But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 10For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” Hebrews 2:9,10
