The Lord has been trying Dad and Mom’s faith, but these trials all fit into His plan to bring glory to Him. Please pray that God will continue to strengthen their faith, for Proverbs 24:10 says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” On the other hand, “Proverbs 25:4 says, “Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.”
Dad and Mom have sown love and the word of God and truth. And God has promised that they will reap the rewards of their labour. Galatians 6:7-9 says, “7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” And II Corinthians 4:1,2 and 5-11 says, “1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God… 5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.”
Dad and Mom have the same assurance that Job had. He said, “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10) And they have the same promise as Peter who said, “7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” (I Peter 1:7-9)
Thank God for these beautiful words from Scripture and these beautiful promises and assurances to comfort His people. Please pray that Dad and Mom will find comfort and rest in the Lord today.
