May 19. Clouds, sun, wind, rain, off and on today.
Serah came and did laundry this morning so I was able to get some extra work done at the computer.
Daddy continued teaching on the resurrection in lotu. Taught about the two resurrections. Matyu took charge of the singing and prayer requests, and also translated for Daddy.
After lotu, and recess time, we went over our new Bible verse in school. Then we had tokples class and math class.
“Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord.” Philippians 3:1a
May 20. No rain today.
The school children were much better behaved today. Thank you, Lord. They did get a little too giggly during English class, but settled down pretty well after being scolded.
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.” Philippians 3:10
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14
May 21. No rain yesterday; but this morning, not long before recess, I heard the sound of rain on the roof. I wondered if we would be having indoor recess today. We did. We are having more rain this evening.
School went well today again, praise the Lord. We finished lesson 9 in Bible class, and had a question/answer race. We also had a race in tokples class. I called a word, and the first one on each team had to find the word in his pile of cards and put it in his team’s box. If it was not right, one of the teachers took it out of the box. They tied the first game so we played again. They tied the second game too so both teams got lollies (candies).
Things have been pretty quiet around the village these days so there isn’t much to write in the journal. In some ways that’s good. At least there aren’t any troubles right now. We would desire opportunities to minister more in spiritual things, however. There just does not seem to be a hunger. We just pray that as Daddy continues to preach, God’s Word will bear fruit in lives.
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4
May 22. .6” rain in rain gauge this morning. Cool and cloudy until mid-morning or so. Thankful for the sun after that to help dry the clothes. We had a good amount of sun with some clouds mixed in the rest of the day. Raining this evening.
Youth lotu this morning at 9:00. They had a race on lessons 7—13. Divided the youth back into two teams again, nine on one team and eight on the other. Lilian and Tania are team captains.
Worked on finishing up Monday’s lesson plans today and getting papers printed for Tuesday as well so I won’t have to do that tomorrow night. Jevin and family are to come for a little party for Judy’s first birthday tomorrow evening. Did some reorganizing and cleaning in Connie’s room. Got a lot of her stuff off the shelves and out of boxes and filled her hamper so it isn’t just sitting there empty. Cleaned up a few things in our bedroom too. Got some visuals together for school on Monday. Cleaned the bathroom. After supper, I made Judy’s birthday cake. Will frost it tomorrow.
Neomi’s mother came by for a visit, and I finished reading I John 2 to her.
"O let my trembling soul be still,
And wait Thy wise, Thy holy will!
I cannot, Lord, Thy purpose see,
Yet all is well since ruled by Thee." —Morning and Evening
“In whom {Christ} are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:3
