June 10. Whew! What a hot, sweaty day. I’ll be really happy for a bath this evening.
I just finished practicing keyboard, and it is nearly 7:00 now. People are arriving for Bible school.
After breakfast this morning, I got an e-mail ready to go to Pastor O. along with the May progress report. Then I finished getting the income report up-to-date.
Daddy had a bad migraine headache this morning and was feeling light-headed besides.
School was a little different today. We had Bible class as usual. Eight of the students recited their Bible verse. After Bible class and a short break, I had the students count the money that had come in from their sales and then we discussed what to have Daddy buy in town for their next sales. It was after 9:30 when we got that taken care of. Then we got set up for their art day. They seemed to enjoy making the soldiers, and now there are twelve soldiers hanging in a row on the bulletin boards. And my soldier is still hanging on the map on the other side of the room where I hung it for the students to look at. It took over two hours for everyone to complete their project. Then they had clean-up to do before they went home.
I warmed up dinner for Daddy and me, and then we had our nap. Heard SIL come before nap was over. Daddy got up and went up to the airstrip. He was out in the hot sun quite a while talking to pilots and others who were on the plane so he felt pretty tired when he got back.
After I got up, it didn’t take long to get things ready for school tomorrow. Then I worked until about 4:30 on revising the next Bible school lesson. At 4:30, I went and started making cookies - oatmeal raisin spice cookies.
“3And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 22:3-5
June 11. Woke up to another foggy morning. Daddy said we had a hard rain during the night, but I guess I was having a hard sleep. I didn’t hear the rain. It was a long time before the fog lifted this morning. We had a partly sunny day and partly cloudy day.
It was going past 7:30 this morning before lotu started. Amos preached on Acts 7:51-53.
We were able to start school a little after 8:30 which was a blessing because we really needed extra time for phonics class. Since their new workbooks are set up a lot differently from the old ones, more time is needed to talk things over and learn how to use them. I am trying to get them to do more work independently too, not only in phonics class, but in all the classes. They need to be prepared for the junior high years of school, coming up before too long.
We went about ten minutes over time in our last class because I wanted them to finish the English lesson. But for some reason, we were quite late finishing dinner and getting to nap. Oh, yes, I remember now. It was because Matthew came at lunch time and wanted Daddy to help him with some verses.
It was about 2:00 when we got to nap, and it was hard to get up even after an hour. Guess I was tired today.
After nap, I washed my hair and finished grading their English lessons. By the time I finished that, it was time to start supper. Erovi brought us some greens today, and it took me quite a while to prepare them. But I was very thankful to the Lord for sending us greens, as we just finished the last of our fresh veggies yesterday. After I got the greens ready, I put on a pot of water to heat for spaghetti. It was about 5:30 before supper was ready. While supper was cooking, I had time to get things ready for tomorrow’s classes.
After supper and dishes, I practiced keyboard until the kids started arriving for youth meeting.
“Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” Revelation 22:7
