It didn’t take long to hang out the clothes this morning. There were mostly big items. Then I had my breakfast and Bible reading and was ready for prayer meeting.
Mike gave a short message on “knowing.” He referred to II Corinthians 5:1 and I John 5:13 - a couple verses on assurance of salvation.
Afterward there was choir practice with the school kids. They want to sing John 1:12,13 tomorrow morning.
Then I made some mocha cookies and after that wrote a couple e-mails. When I finished that, it was time to warm up dinner.
Most of the afternoon was spent writing lesson plans. After supper and dishes, I cleaned the bathroom. Then I figured out what songs to use to demonstrate a couple things in the music lessons Daddy will be teaching in Bible school.
Just got a couple more e-mails written, and now it is 8:00. Need to do some printing and get some other things ready for classes for this coming week.
“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 8:12
March 9. 6:00 p.m. A light rain falling. Praise the Lord for answered prayer today in giving us a warm and dry day. There was no sunshine until late this afternoon and just for a while, but we were thankful to the Lord for a good day for the baptism and fellowship time. There were nine people baptized today - one more than anticipated. Matusa’s son, Ben, was saved yesterday evening. He looks like he is no more than 12 years old. He was very shy and was “missing” when everyone gave their testimonies. But after the meeting, he was back inside and gave a testimony to a small group, including Daddy.
The people weren’t up too early this morning, but were busy preparing a mumu when they did get up and around. So we figured the meeting would be starting a little bit late.
After breakfast and quiet time, I worked on fixing math lessons so they’ll be ready to print out for the students who don’t have books.
There were three specials this morning, and they all went well with Matthew’s message, talking about what takes place in our lives when we are saved. The school choir sang John 1:12,13. Phinehas had written a song about assurance of salvation which some of the young people sang. He and Dallas played guitars. The song he wrote was accurate and well done. After the preaching, the youth group sang “Naispela Baibel”. Then the baptismal candidates gave their testimonies and went down to the creek for the baptism. And Daddy and I had our lunch and went to the bed for our nap.
First thing after nap, I cut up a popo for our snack. Then I had to make a main meal so decided to make soup. Daddy cut up a pumpkin for me, and then I peeled it and diced it. Washed and diced potatoes and husked and cut up uxai also. Added herbs and spices, oil and butter. Put that on to cook and then went to get things ready for school tomorrow. A little later, I sautéed onion and fried up the last chunk of mince. Added those to the soup along with some seaweed. The soup tasted good, even though we were already hot. Yes, we actually got hot and sweaty this afternoon. The afternoon temperature was more like normal.
I was thankful there weren’t very many dishes this evening as my back was hurting.
“11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” Hebrews 9:11-15
