We are currently experiencing a snow/sleet and possibly ice storm, so I am not sure how much I will be able to upload before the power goes out. Hope you enjoy, and please be in prayer for Dad and Mom.

October 22. Our last day in town. Read Revelation 20 this morning. It is exciting to think that one day we will reign with Christ on the earth. But sad to think of those who will stand before the Great White Throne and be cast into the lake of fire because their names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. There is much work to do while we wait for the Lord’s return.
We went into town around 9:00. Went to CRMF first and made bookings for our next trip to town. Also sent and received e-mails. However, the sending wasn’t working too well, so we closed it up and left it there until afternoon. Went from there to the second hand stores and picked up a few things. Then to New Century to pick up some tuna. It is quite a bit cheaper there than at SVS. Took all that stuff over to the hangar and packed and labeled it. Next we went to Papindos and got bread and apples and drinks for lunch. Had meat pies for lunch at SVS. Got some carrots. Went over to the new store on the corner and got chicken pieces for Wan, and a couple cokes for the rats. (Coke is supposed to kill rats by making their stomachs bloat, but the rats weren’t the least bit interested in Coke.) Next to City Pharmacy where we got baby soap for Susi, and vitamins for Daddy. Met a worker named Dulcie, who says that we are her friends. She was happy to talk to someone in English. She is from Rabaul. Said that she and her family ran away from there when they had the eruption in 1994. She was just a young girl then. She was working at City Pharmacy in Hagen, but transferred to Goroka about four weeks ago. Lives with a sister in Goroka.
Then we went to Best Buy to try to find shorts for Wan, but didn’t find anything suitable for an affordable price. Went to Bintangor next and got eggs, broccoli, and Chinese cabbage, and a couple little chocolates. Then Daddy went to the ATM machine. Bumped into Kelly there, and gave him a ride over to CRMF. He is having exams now, and says they are hard. He will have a long holiday, starting next month. Janet and family will come out and they will go spend time with their families. Then he’ll come back to school the first of the year and graduate in March.
At CRMF, we sent out the e-mail that didn’t go in the morning.
Talked to Chris a bit, then headed back to Sobega. Took a nap. Packed. Had supper.
October 23. Up about 5:45 this morning. Daddy had already been up for a while. Left Sobega a little before 7:00 and headed for the hangar. Daddy went over to Bintangor to get a phone card. We waited until about 8:30, when the weather in Owena was clear, and then took off from Goroka. There was a sea of clouds almost all the way to Owena. But Lamari valley was clear. Praise the Lord for a beautiful day!
Auri went out on the plane today. Daddy prayed with him before he left.
After I came down to the house and paid the carriers, I started unpacking. Fixed rice, Chinese cabbage, carrots, and broccoli for dinner. Had a nap. Was very tired, stressed, and downhearted for some reason. Thankful for a good nap, and for God’s longsuffering, and for Daddy’s comforting arms.
Put away more stuff after nap. Worked on notes for youth leader bung {meeting}. Cleaned off big desk and rearranged things so we can put the new printer there.
Just as we sat down for supper, people started coming and going for one thing or another.
Ben came by, and we asked him about a game leader for youth group. He suggested Jevin, with Erik as helper. Later Jevin came by, and we asked him about being game leader. He said he would pray about it and let us know.
Wan and Janet came after that to get the rest of their stuff. Heard a rat in the wall behind the benches. Started poking around in the wall with a pointed stick. Found a nest, and must have gotten some of the babies, as there was blood on the end of the stick. Opened up the wall and took out a nest of eight babies.
“He began to wash the disciples' feet." John 13:5 The Lord Jesus loves His people so much, that every day He is still doing for them much that is analogous to washing their soiled feet…. —Morning and Evening
Lord, thank you for loving me so much. I need my soiled feet washed so often.
October 24. Daddy and I finished reading Revelation together this morning. Serah came after lotu {church meeting} and did laundry. Had three loads today. The sun kept going and coming all morning, and the skies looked threatening. So we hung everything inside, except the sheets. There wasn’t room for them. It never did rain, though, except for a few sprinkles.
Did quite a bit of printing this morning. Never did get time to install the new printer. Worked on trimming, punching holes, making corrections after power was off. Cooked up the lamb chops for tomorrow’s dinner, and the rest of the topside mince with gravy and onions to go over the leftover rice for today’s dinner. Some of that is leftover for Monday.
Susi came by this morning to get the things she ordered. Brought the baby with her. I was glad to get to see the baby. Would like to be able to spend more time with Susi and talk to her about spiritual things.
This afternoon, after nap, I worked on checking Aposóri 12, as I need to get copies printed out for the men to check, and I hadn’t even proofread it yet. So that is proofread and ready to put in the print.doc file.
Kristina came by later this afternoon to get cooking oil, and I asked her about taking Tema’s place in translating for ladies’ meeting. She agreed to do that.
I went out and did a little work in the flower garden this afternoon. Just needed a little fresh air and time to think. It felt good to get out. Planted some sugar fruit seeds. Saw that some of the ones planted before were coming up.
