December 10. The Lord gave us a nice sunny morning, and I was happy to be able to open the door for a while and let fresh air in. The afternoon was nice too, but with a little wind and more clouds.
Neither of us woke up until quarter ‘til seven this morning. Took shower and washed hair. Had leftover pancakes for breakfast with banana, cranberry-apple sauce, and yogurt on top. Had quiet time and then started getting the notes for our presentation typed into the computer. Had a really bad headache during the night, and this morning, my ears and head felt like they were going to explode. Took some ParaGone (herbal supplement) and felt a little better.
Around 11:15, we went out to WalMart to check on eye exams and see what they had available for eyeglass frames. Went up to Dekalb and looked at a house for rent. Came back home for lunch and nap.
“1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” I Corinthians 2:1-5
December 11. Up a little earlier this morning. Finished up the script for our presentation, except for the part telling what our future ministry will be. Daddy looked it over to check for mistakes and make sure it wasn’t too long.
Late morning, we went off to look at a house on Wilmouth. K-Mart was along the way so stopped there to do some shopping. I was very happy and thankful to shop there. Looking for a warmer hat for winter, I found a nice hat, scarf, and glove set for not much more than the hat itself. Then when it rung up at the register, it was even $4 less so I was even more thankful. Looking for a wallet, I found dozens of them. How would I make a choice? Wanted to get a small purse too, preferably one that matched. Came across some bags that were a wallet and purse together. Perfect size, and I only had to buy one item. Great. Daddy had gone to look for shoes and found a BOGO sale, $1 for the second pair. He found some nice looking dress shoes, and I got the BOGO pair - white dress shoes to put away for spring and summer. Went to look at chairs, but didn’t find anything suitable for my need. Then went to the household section and got towels (two blue and two brown), washcloths (same), and a matching bath mat in the blue.
Looked at more houses and after that, we came back to the house. Worked for a while on sorting photos and then had supper. Now Christy is studying, Connie is crocheting, and Daddy is doing Sudoku.
“9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” I Corinthians 2:9,10
