February 15. 7:30 p.m. No generator on this evening. I spent a little time getting next week’s lessons put into some of the students’ folders, but now I have other work to do so will finish those in the morning when I can see better.
Tomas did the teaching in lotu this morning, talking about the marriage supper of the Lamb. There were quite a few prayer requests. One very important request was for souls to be saved who know they need to be saved but are still afraid of man. Quite a few people, especially from Marivo, have asked the church here to pray for them, that they will have the courage to get saved.
Just before lotu ended, Kelly sent word up that the plane was going to come and get a snake-bite victim and that Daddy should be ready to go out on the plane. Anyway Daddy hurried around packing, and I hurried to get back-ups done on the computer so I would have copies of my files to use in the other computer while Daddy is gone. He was just about all ready to go when we heard that the man died, and the plane would not have to come.
After that, I moved the Canon printer over here to the table closer to the inverter so I could do some printing. I didn’t want to wait until tomorrow evening to finish printing next week’s school lessons because that would mean I’d have to rush to get them all collated, punched, and put into the students’ folders. We knew the black 5 inck was low, but it looked like there would be enough to finish up the school materials for the week. I had printed spelling and Bible lessons a couple days ago, but needed to do math lessons. I got the front sides of all the math pages printed, turned them over and told the printer to do the back sides. It printed one page. Black 5 gone. And no more to put in. Daddy had tried to buy some black 5 last time he was in town, but there wasn’t any anywhere. We are praying that he’ll be able to find some this time. (Praise the Lord, there was some available, so Daddy got two.)
After I shut things down, we went for a little stretch outside. Before coming back in, I brought in the fitted sheet and pillow cases so I could make the bed back up. Then we got most of the rest of the clothes in. There were just a few items that weren’t quite dry so we left them out, and Daddy brought them in after dinner.
After we came back inside, I got the uxai husked and cut up with some onion and put it on to cook for dinner. Put the leftover spaghetti and sauce on the wood stove to warm. Daddy kept the wood stove going today because we weren’t getting much sunshine.
This afternoon, I cut up the two ripe popos that were in the cupboard. Part of one was set aside for eating as is, and the rest was made into popo crisp for supper.
Then Daddy turned on the generator for a short while, and I printed the back sides of the math lessons on the laser printer. That printer takes too much power so can’t use it on the inverter. The laser printer seems to be having problems, however. As soon as I turned it on, it started printing, just whatever it wanted to print - things that we had printed on it some time ago. I quickly turned it off so it wouldn’t waste more of my already printed pages. Finally got it connected to the computer and reading what it was supposed to print. Then it didn’t print well at all - lots of faded places in the printing. It has a new image drum and a new toner cartridge so don’t know what its problem is. Finally got those printed and then wrote an e-mail to Christy and Connie. Finished that just before 5:00 and went to cook the popo that I had cut up for popo crisp.
After supper, I did dishes, swept the floor, spot-treated the area in front of the kitchen cupboards, and wiped off the chalkboard before getting some of the students’ lessons put into their folders.
“Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” II Timothy 2:1
February 16. The Lord gave us a pretty nice day today. It is raining again this evening.
Daddy got me up at 6:00 this morning. Got dressed and went to work making pancakes. While pancakes were cooking, I covered the library books and dusted things in the meeting room. After breakfast and quiet time, I finished putting Bible and music, math, and spelling lessons into the students’ folders. Then I cut up the verse corrections and pasted them over the incorrect portions on their memory verse reminders. Also cut the papers in half with speed drills 14 and 16.
Then it was time for lotu. Lawrence came and sat on my lap for quite a while. Later Bethel came and sat on my lap for a while. And later during the message, I got up and went to the bedroom. My back was really giving me fits today. When I got up this morning, it kept catching and hurting, and did that off and on throughout the day. I had to take an ibuprofen at nap time because my back was hurting too much for me to be able to relax and sleep. Then I ended up sleeping through the whole afternoon meeting.
Matthew preached on II Corinthians 7:5-7. He first gave a background on what happened to Paul in Ephesus.
This afternoon, I put the final touches on the quarterly newsletter. Then we each proofread it. Then I got the file ready to send to Christy in an e-mail, but ended up compressing and repasting some of the pictures to try to make the file a bit smaller. It then ended up being 4 MB instead of 5. Daddy will send it when he gets to town.
Put a pot of rice and soup beans on to cook while I was working on the newsletter. Later I made some creamed eggs to go on top of the rice.
After supper and dishes, I got materials together for school tomorrow and wrote some things on the chalkboard.
