May 13. Another dry day. Very humid. Looked like we might get some rain, but then the winds came up and blew away the rain.
Bethuel was sick today and he was not in school. We had noticed that he was not in lotu yesterday.
We finished school a little before noon today. I was thankful to be able to lie down earlier for nap. There was just a little bit of grading to do after nap. Then I sorted out the baby things that Daddy had bought in town, and also the yarn, before making myself some ginger cookies. When I was getting the cookies ready to go into the oven, I remembered that I was supposed to make bread today. It was too late then. So I threw together some biscuits - barley/bean/wheat. Then we forgot to put the dish water on to heat while we were eating supper. So after supper, I got things ready for classes tomorrow while the dish water was heating. Just finished doing the dishes a few minutes ago.
“25For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 27Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 28Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.” Acts 2:25-28
May 14. Another dry and very humid day. We saw rain in the west, but it did not come here.
Finished up the quarterly newsletter this morning before school and have that ready to send off to Christy.
Bethuel was absent again from school so he must be pretty sick.
It was late when we finished school today. It took the students a while to finish their questions in science. Phinehas and Dallas stayed to practice keyboard, and Sunny and Bonita prepared greens and sorted out plastic bags. It was almost 2:00 before we went for nap, and I didn’t get up until after 4:00. Then I had carrots and broccoli to prepare for supper. I had just gotten started on that job, however, when two ladies came from Marivo with new babies - both girls. So I got some baby things out to give them. After I got the veggies on to cook, I worked on grading. When the veggies were done, I warmed up the leftover spaghetti and sauce.
We finally ate around 5:30. Then I did dishes. After that, I got things ready for school tomorrow. Discovered that there is a second test for unit 1 in English. We had done test one, and we had already done one lesson in unit 2. But tomorrow we will go back and do the second test for unit one.
By the time everything was done, it was time for my lemon soda.
Phinehas came to practice again this evening.
“31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.” Acts 2:31,32
