June 23. Rained lightly much of the night. Chilly and rainy most of the day. No outdoor exercise today.
It’s been a pretty quiet day. Wrote some e-mails and cleaned some out of the inbox. Later Daddy and I cleaned out one of the drums in our bedroom. Most everything is now boxed up to be sold. Set aside a couple towels to give to Esau and Serin as a wedding gift.
Made beef-veggie soup for dinner.
This afternoon, I worked on translating the song for which Connie had sent the music. I had asked if she could find the song so it can be used for graduation. Took down the clothes that had been hung up in the guest room to dry yesterday. Went through some books and decided whether to throw out, sell, or give away. Cleaned the bathroom sink and toilet.
Took my bath right after supper before the house should get too cold.
“48Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, 49Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? 50Hath not my hand made all these things?” Acts 7:48-50
June 24. Just a little bit of rain during the night, but very foggy and chilly again today. Only a little rain first thing in the morning. The clouds were high enough for SIL to get in today. They have been trying since Monday to come here, but the weather was too bad for them to even leave Aiyura. They came in to get coffee, but also took out an Aziana youth with a broken leg.
Up a little earlier this morning. Just a small group here for lotu today. Others were off somewhere, although there did seem to be quite a crowd gathered at the airstrip to see the plane and plenty at Nukawai’s roof-raising for his new house.
Amos didn’t start a new section in Acts today, but gave the applications for the part he taught last Wednesday. It was a long section, and he hadn’t had time to give the applications. The main applications were that much knowledge will be of no value as far as eternal things, and that God gives time for men to repent.
After lotu, I wrote a few more e-mails. Went outside for a little stretch, but it was too wet for a walk. Also Daddy planned to go up to the airstrip later when the plane came.
The rest of the morning was spent cleaning out a couple boxes in our bedroom and looking through a game book.
We had just sat down for lunch when the plane came. Daddy went off to the airstrip. I had a couple bowls of soup in between answering the door three or four times. When I finished, I put the soup up to pressure since I didn’t know when Daddy would be back. He borrowed a tool from the pilot to open the drum of diesel, then took it back up to him. I was headed for nap by the time Daddy came back for his lunch.
This afternoon, I worked on Bible lessons for school until Daddy finished shaving and washing up. Then I shut down the computer and cut Daddy’s hair.
After supper, I finished up the Bible lesson. Now it needs to be printed out and proofread before I can make student copies.
Youth are here this evening for their meeting.
