November 15. It was a blessing not to have to get up early this morning and hurry to wash clothes before lotu. Now that school is out, we can do wash on weekdays so will wait until Monday to do laundry. Will probably do laundry again on Thursday as there are lots of things from the play that need to be washed.
There were not many here for lotu this morning. We had seen people going down to Ahnyauntapeq early this morning and learned that there was another fight going on.
After lotu, Erisapet swept the meeting room and raked the church area yard. I sorted and washed the greens that had been brought to us yesterday afternoon. Matthew came to discuss with Daddy the New Year meetings and the choosing of deacons.
Obet is really growing in the Lord. His wife (Sera) is not saved, however; but she has been coming to church, and Matthew said that she is no longer having problems that she was facing before. We continue to pray for her salvation.
While Matthew was here talking with Daddy this morning, I got an e-mail birthday card ready to send off to a friend and also a short “thank you” to Dr. Bud. Then I got journal notes ready to be sent to Christy and Connie.
After Matthew left, Daddy and I went for a walk down the airstrip to look at the frame that is supposed to become the new school building for the primary grades. It was a beautiful morning; and there was a nice breeze blowing, until we got down to the bottom of the airstrip, that is. Then it started getting quite hot. We took a quick look at the school building site and then headed back up to the house.
Before warming up our dinner, I started an e-mail to Christy and Connie and finished that after our nap this afternoon. Also finished setting up the soul-winning lesson that Daddy needs for tomorrow night. After supper, I printed out a copy for him to proofread, made student copies, and then printed out those. Daddy has them all collated and ready for the holes to be punched.
“2And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:2-6
November 16. The Lord gave us a nice sunny morning, but it was very, very warm. Then this afternoon there was rain which cooled things off, but it didn’t rain hard today.
After fixing pancakes for Daddy’s breakfast and lemon bran muffins for mine, eating breakfast, and having quiet time, I punched holes in the new soul-winning lessons. Then I worked on the next Bible school lesson for Wilson until time for lotu, except that I took a break in the middle and went outside in the sunshine. Cut a few flowers to put in the meeting room for lotu.
Matthew started preaching on Galatians today, beginning with an introduction to the book and finishing in the afternoon meeting with verse 12.
He also announced today the four candidates for the office of deacon - Amos, Mike, Tomas, and Gibson.
This afternoon, I continued work on the Bible school lesson. Also made pumpkin/potato soup for supper. It tasted especially good on a cool, rainy afternoon.
Finished up the lesson right after supper. Printed a copy of the lesson, proofread it, corrected mistakes, and then made the students’ copy. After that I did the dishes. Got a student copy printed out for Wilson. Had a snack and a bath.
