December 9. The Lord gave us a warm, sunny morning and cool, rainy afternoon and evening.
After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I practiced music until about 8:45. About 8:15, Sunny and Bonita came. This morning, they washed dishes, shelled peanuts and sorted plastic bags. They left a little before 10:00. I think after they left here, they went with other church folks to the other side of the mountain on the other side of the Owena river to get bamboo.
After I practiced music, Daddy turned on the generator, and I printed out the backs of the oral English pages. Later I collated the pages, trimmed and glued the cover picture on the cover of each book, punched holes and put the books together with ribbon. We don’t have a stapler with long enough staples, but they won’t need to do any writing in the books so the ribbons should be sufficient. It took most of the morning to finish that job.
After supper, I practiced keyboard again and then put a few pictures in the Kodak file.
“20According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:20,21
December 10. A very warm and mostly dry day. Clouds came up about mid-afternoon, dropped the temperature down, and dropped a little rain. But the rain didn’t last long. Soon the temperature had gone back up, and the sky was mostly blue.
When I got up this morning, I saw that the weather was likely to be suitable for drying clothes. Decided that we would wash clothes this morning. Had a little bath first as it was too cold last night. Daddy went down and put fuel in the generator. Then I sorted out the clothes, and Daddy went back down and started the generator. While clothes were washing, I cooked myself some oatmeal, ate, and read Bible. Since there wasn’t much other wash today, I was able to wash a lap quilt and our bedspread.
Had just started hanging out clothes when Sunny and Bonita came. Came back inside to get them started on work. In the mean time, Daddy got most of the clothes hung up so that was a big blessing. I went back out and helped him finish up.
Came in and rested and prayed a while, while the girls were finishing up dishes. When they finished dishes, I had them spot clean the floor with the warm dish water since there weren’t very many dishes to wash today. While they were doing that, I practiced keyboard. Then we had them clean Daddy’s town shoes, his boots, and his house shoes.
Later in the morning, I worked on spelling lessons until dinner time. Forgot that I didn’t have any biscuits left, so we warmed up dinner at noon instead of having lunch. Daddy went out and brought the clothes in while I was getting dinner warmed up.
This afternoon, I cleaned the bathroom, cut up a popo for snack, and worked on the spelling lessons until almost supper time. Then I closed down the computer, got biscuits going, and got things ready for supper.
“27Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; 28And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. 29For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake….” Philippians 1:27-29
