After I came in, I sat down a few minutes and had an emergen-C drink. And after I cleaned the bathroom sink, I worked on lesson plans until time to get dinner. Cooked up one of the chunks of ground beef and made a gravy with it to go on our rice. Warmed up the leftover greens and uxai. I did not eat any meat today. We gave the two leftover lamb patties to Wan. He had come this morning, and he and Daddy tried to assess the problem with the leaks in the meeting room. They worked on that until noon. I do hope that they have gotten things figured out, or soon will.
After dinner, we got the clothes in and had our nap. The rest of the afternoon, I worked on lesson plans and finished those just before supper. Daddy spent some time trying to send and receive e-mails. He was able to receive, but we still haven’t been able to get that other one sent that we tried to send last night.
I was thankful that there weren’t very many dishes this evening. After dishes, I cleaned off the shelf above the toilet. Sprayed the tub, and Daddy wiped it out for me. Got the chalkboard washed and the pulpit and offering box wiped off.
“ And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him. “ Luke 5:11
December 16. The Lord gave us a very lovely, perfect day. The skies were so clear and blue first thing in the morning. Daddy went out and took a few pictures of the mountains with the blue sky above. We could see the far mountains that we rarely see. There was no smoke from fires to becloud the scenery.
Woke up a little early this morning (Daddy was still building the fire in the wood stove) so got up and got started on the pancakes. While pancakes were cooking, I got the bed made and started folding yesterday’s laundry. Daddy had his breakfast first, and then I got mine ready - corn/oat/wheat pancakes today with a few pumpkin seeds (they were in the granola) and apricot syrup. Then I was able to sit down and eat and have quiet time. Afterward, I finished folding and putting away the clothes. Then Daddy turned on the generator, and I did some printing before doing a bit of work in the computer.
Daddy checked our Digicel modem and found out we only had 87 toea left on it. It’s a good thing he checked it before I tried sending more e-mails. He added another K20 so we’re set to go again.
Daddy preached this morning and afternoon on the rest of I Corinthians 4 - verses 9 through the end. The applications were much needed for these days of trial that a number of church members have been facing.
Daddy was long-winded during the first meeting. It was already 12:20 when people went out for a break. I warmed up our dinner, and we ate. By the time they started the second meeting (going on 2:00), I was ready for a nap. I think I heard them sing part of a song, and I woke up a couple times for a few minutes and heard a few words of preaching. An hour later, Daddy came in for a short nap, and I was ready to get up. I got everything ready for school tomorrow. Then I looked for a piece of material on which to paint the theme verse for our special meetings (II Timothy 3:1). Got the verse marked out in pencil this evening, ready for painting, probably with markers.
Also today I finally got the embellishments (a few beads) on the crocheted bag I had made for Judy.
This evening, people are here for soul-winning class.
