July 24. Only about a dozen here for lotu this morning. Matthew preached on the ministry of the church for believers. We started about 7:20, and the meeting ended about an hour later. Mata was here with the baby, and I got to hold the baby for a few minutes.
Mata brought us some nice red bulb onions this morning, and her mother brought some more later in the morning.
School started about 8:30, but still did not end until about 12:15. It takes them a lot longer to do their math work from the chalkboard than it does from the printed page. But we are not able to give them printed pages all the time yet until we get the generator back.
I made creamed eggs to go on my bread today for lunch because the mayonnaise didn’t set well on my stomach yesterday.
After nap, I was happy to get outside a while. I picked some dead stems off some flower plants and also dug a couple steps going down to the lower half of the yard. The ground was quite dry with lots of loose dirt so I didn’t want to try going down there without steps. I was surprised it wasn’t too hard to dig out steps in that dry ground. Just the third step was hard because there was dry clay under the top layer.
When I came back in, I cut up a popo, and then sewed a belt loop back in place on Daddy’s trousers. Then I got my fruit snack and sat down to record grades. Looked over the lessons for school tomorrow and made sure everything was ready. Put water on to boil for spaghetti for supper and got out the spaghetti sauce and a can of creamed corn. (All our fresh veggies are gone.) While the spaghetti was cooking, I worked on putting corrections in the computer for the rest of Galatians through Philippians. Finished that right after supper because we forgot to put water on to heat for dishes. Now the water is hot so need to go get dishes done. Not very many dishes this evening so they shouldn’t take long.
“1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1,2
July 25. It is chilly this evening. Daddy has a fire going in the wood stove. The Lord sent us some nice sunshine this morning, and sent rain this afternoon. The rain cooled things down quite quickly.
Both MAF and SIL came today. MAF brought in a man from the coffee industry board to tell the people about a coffee subsidy for their coffee. SIL came and got the empty fuel drums.
Daniel came this afternoon and got a wooden toilet seat made to replace the broken plastic one in Connie’s bathroom. It still needs to be sanded down a bit more and then painted.
Today we played a game in math class instead of doing a worksheet. It was a nice change for them. Didn’t have as much work to grade today so got most of it done in class. Just had their social studies workbooks to do this afternoon. After I got everything ready for classes tomorrow, I had a few minutes to work at the computer before making myself some biscuits for supper. The rest of my bread was quite moldy.
“3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5:3-5
