December 19. Woke up to a fogged in, rainy morning. Had to hang the wash inside today.
Nuanda came by last evening just to visit. That was nice, and we enjoyed a good, relaxing visit.
Did a lot of printing this morning. Had to put the new ink cartridge in the HP. Have one ream of paper left.
Didn’t feel like doing much of anything today. This cough in my chest seems to take away my strength. Didn’t have much appetite today either.
Daddy put undercoat on the bathroom cupboard and the side of Connie’s closet today.
Devit finished putting 2 Timoti 2 in computer and started on chapter 3. Tony brought a load of bamboo yesterday and today and a load of ooqdi this evening. He also laid a few boards on the floor of the addition.
Daddy had to turn the water off again today as the leak in the laundry room got quite bad and was squirting out water. He had to cut off the elbow and put on a new one. So there won’t be any baths tonight. Water has to be off until around noon tomorrow.
December 20. No rain last night, and a nice dry day to day.
My chest and throat and ears have been hurting quite a bit today. There is a wheezing in my chest when I cough. I was not able to go out and talk to Christy and Connie this morning, but was thankful to hear that Christy is able to get unemployment as long as she applies for at least two jobs a week.
I did not go out to lotu either. Daddy preached the second lotu, finishing the summing up of I John.
Daddy and I prayed a bit together this afternoon before supper.
Worked a little bit on crocheting today. Got the rest of Aposel (Acts in Pidgin) ready for printing when needed. Played keyboard some this morning, and again this evening. I wanted to sing, buy couldn’t with this sore throat and chest cold. Was thankful for the encouragement from the words to “Day by Day.”
Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best --
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.
Ev’ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He whose name is Counselor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
Tis the pledge to me He made.
Help me then in ev’ry tribulation
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.
