August 24. Quite a different day from yesterday. Sunshine and blue sky again, with strong winds. MAF came in this morning to bring Esther and Endru and the baby back from town. NTM came in the afternoon and brought our diesel fuel.
Not a very eventful day for me, but it was for Daddy. He was up to the airstrip twice, making phone calls to try to make arrangements for going to town next week and seeing the doctor, finding verses to use in talking with Matthew, taking care of people at the door. As of now, he is scheduled to go out with MAF on 2nd September and see Dr. Bud on the 4th.
There wasn’t much grading to be done today and nothing to write on the chalkboard. I got a Bible test made up this afternoon since we finished our current Bible study today. Started writing a new music lesson too. Also got some things together for fun day games.
Sunny and Graham had their computer lesson this evening, and I recorded a few grades and did some work on my music notebook while they were at the computers. Phinehas and Bonita were here studying. A couple others are here now too.
“8Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law…. 10Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” Romans 13:8,10
August 25. Here it is almost 10:00. It just dawned on me while I was getting ready for bath that I hadn’t written in my journal yet.
Today the students had their final exam in math. Everyone did well, and 3/4 of the class got grades in the 90’s. I was very pleased. After I got them all graded and handed them back, they all shouted their triple hooray. I had a hard time not crying though, just realizing how short our time is together.
It was going on 2:00 before we had lunch because of the time it took to get all the math exams graded. But there was nothing to do this afternoon for school. All the grading was done, and there will only be three classes tomorrow. We’ll use the math class time now to try to complete the current unit in phonics and reading.
After nap, I did some more sorting out for sales and give-away, and also finding things I need for game day. Then I fixed pumpkin that Daddy had cut up for me and got a pot of rice and soup beans ready to cook. I forgot that we still had leftover soup until I was ready to start dishes. Guess we’ll have the soup for lunch tomorrow.
This evening, I finished up the music lesson I had started this morning and printed out copies of that. We may have time to start it on Thursday after the Bible test. If not, it will be for next week Monday. Also printed out some pages of fish to use for a fishing game for fun day. Maybe Sunny and Graham can help me cut those out on Thursday. Or maybe I can work on them during class time when the students are doing independent work.
