June 30. Almost 9:00 p.m. Just finished dishes and got my snack. Now it’s time to sit down again.
The day started out nice and sunny - such a nice morning the Lord gave us. Later in the day, He sent clouds and cool winds.
Didn’t have much time this morning before school to do anything. We got up a little bit later than we had planned because neither of us woke up at the right time.
Afternoon class went a little longer than usual because the students needed some drill and extra teaching on the alphabet and dictionary. It was about 2:15 when we lay down, and I only slept a half hour or less.
After nap, I finished up today’s grading - just had spelling lessons left to do - and got things ready for tomorrow. Then I made sure everything was ready for printing this evening. Had to finish a test to go with the next Bible lesson so I could print out that lesson and proofread it.
After supper, I did quite a bit of printing - math lessons, math pasteovers, copies of Bible test for tomorrow, copies of music test for Friday, and above-mentioned Bible lesson. After the printing, I did the proofreading of the Bible lesson. Daddy was having Bible school with Wilson.
After Wilson left, I put dishwater on to heat and practiced keyboard while it was heating. Will probably have time after their Bible test tomorrow to do some singing.
“5And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” Genesis 15:5,6
July 1. The first day of the second half of this year. Wow! Where does the time go?
It is 7:15 p.m. Daddy is teaching the Bible school class. I just finished sorting out the sale stuff for the school so they can start their sale tomorrow. Daddy worked with the students this morning in place of their last class, deciding on prices for everything.
It has been quite a cool, cloudy day.
After Daddy started the generator this morning, I got the five promises verses printed out for Esau. Then I worked on revising Jon 4:16-30 as I’ll be using those verses for their next Bible lesson. Had a few minutes left before school when that was done so punched holes in the new math lessons that I printed out last night and cut up the pasteovers.
After we prayed, sang, reviewed, and recited verses, I gave the students some time to study the Bible lesson we finished yesterday, and then gave them their test.
While Daddy was working with the students at the end of the morning, I prepared the other broccoli and a few more carrots and put those on to cook for our dinner. When they were almost done, I put the leftover spaghetti and sauce on to warm up.
We had early nap and slept for a little over an hour. I thought I would have some extra time this afternoon to work on the computer. However, after I finished grading their math lessons, it took quite a while to get the new lessons put into the three notebooks, make some changes in the textbooks and glue in pasteovers, write some things on the chalkboard for tomorrow, and get everything together for tomorrow’s classes.
Just had a few minutes after that to fix up the advertisement for the school sale before getting supper ready.
Right after supper and getting the kitchen cleaned up, I put water on for my bath. It had been cold all day, and was getting colder, so wanted to get a bath early before it got too cold. While the bath water was heating, I printed out the advertisements. After bath, I put one of them up in the schoolroom.
“11Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. 12For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.” II Corinthians 1:11,12
