April 21. Going on 8:30 p.m. Water is on heating for dishes. It is raining. Has rained off and on much of the afternoon and evening. Daddy is teaching Bible school. Thania is here waiting for them to finish so she can walk home with someone. She has been here since 4:00 helping me check today’s schoolwork. My, what a busy day it was! What a hard time the students are having with fractions too! I really don’t know how else I can make it plainer so they can understand how to change to common denominators for adding and subtracting.
Please pray for Mom to have wisdom how to teach the students fractions and other math concepts and for the Lord to open up their understanding so they can figure it out.
This afternoon after nap, I got the students’ copy of the Bible school lesson ready for printing, and then printed it right after supper as soon as the generator was turned on. Daddy collated, and I punched holes so it was ready in time for class.
I also cut up and fixed pumpkin for supper and made some biscuits to put the rest of our chicken gravy on. Daddy couldn’t cut up the pumpkin for me today because his right hand is red and swollen. He has no idea what it is from.
“23And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. 24I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” John 8:23, 24
April 22. The skies were clear when we got up this morning, and there was a chill in the air. By noon, as has been the pattern lately, the skies were clouded over, and cool winds were blowing.
Amos taught on Acts 16:6-10 this morning in lotu, emphasizing the importance of seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance for our lives and being obedient to what He tells us to do.
It seems like the students are finally getting the idea of changing fractions to lowest common denominators. Praise the Lord!
I was really tired today because my throat and ears have been hurting again so I took an extra long nap. The damp chill in the air gets into the ears and throat so I asked Daddy to get a fire going today even though the temperature wasn’t that cold. I’m certainly thankful that there won’t be any rain in heaven.
After nap, I had some lessons to grade. Didn’t have to fix anything for supper - just warmed up leftovers on the wood stove. After supper, I put some work on the chalkboard for school tomorrow.
“28Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” John 8:28,29
