Men worked on the airstrip today and finished cutting the grass that some had started cutting a couple weeks ago. But that isn’t all that needs to be done. The strip is very rough, and they need to get gravel and fill in the rough spots.
After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I had to make sure everything was ready for school as I didn’t have time to do that last night. After that, I started writing an e-mail which I finished this afternoon along with a couple other e-mails.
Right after school, Phinehas stayed and said his verses. And after nap, Steve came and said his verses. Steve did an excellent job. I only had to help him three times in the eleven verses. It has been a joy to see how he has been studying and learning his verses so well this year. I gave him an extra prize for doing so well on his verses today.
Later in the afternoon, Phinehas and Dallas came by and practiced keyboard. I finished grading papers and recording grades. Then wrote e-mails before getting supper -- pumpkin and fish patties. Also put together the four multiplication table poster as they will start learning that times table later this week.
“37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:37-40
March 5. Last night we both went to bed early — about 9:30. We were both tired, but apparently I was not tired enough. Daddy went to sleep, but I lay awake for a loooong time. It was hard to get up this morning. Had to get up ‘n’ at ‘em however as there was lots to do before Daddy took off for town.
The Lord sent us rain during the night, but the morning dawned clear and fogless. The plane could have gotten in at 6:00 if the pilot had wanted to. But it was a little after 12:30 before the plane arrived here, and somewhere around 1:00 before they were headed for town.
The first order of business this morning was sorting the laundry. As soon as I got it sorted, Daddy started the generator. While clothes were washing, I got my breakfast and had quiet time. Daddy helped me hang out the clothes. After that, I tried to do a little walking and praying, but was having too much pain. So I relaxed in the recliner and prayed. Then I wrote one more quick e-mail so Daddy could pack the computer up to take to town. Then helped Daddy make sure he had everything he needed for his trip to town. When all was ready, it was still not even 9:00. I got Saturday’s laundry folded, and practiced keyboard for about an hour. After that, I felt really tired so took a nap. Felt a lot better after I got up. Daddy helped me put up the other curtain I had fixed for the meeting room. Warmed up some dinner for the two of us. When we finished eating, Daddy got the fire ready to start in the morning so it was a blessing that I didn’t have to do that this afternoon. Then it was almost time for the plane so Daddy called in the boys who were waiting outside and had them carry his things up to the airstrip.
After he left, I finished trimming up the report cards I had printed Sunday evening. They needed a little trimming so they would fit in the envelopes. Then I made sure everything was in order for classes tomorrow.
After nap, I tried doing a little cleaning. Couldn’t do anything strenuous, but brushed all the dust and cobwebs off the wood stove and dusted out the inside of its oven too. Then I swept the kitchen floor. Phinehas and Dallas came to practice keyboard. David came in during that time with a question.
Amos turned the generator on around 6:35. It is 9:30 now. We had choir practice, and it went pretty well. I had Amos turn off the generator as soon as everyone had left, around 8:55. Then I had my bath.
“44No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 45It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. 46Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. 47Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” John 6:44-47
