December 27. It has been another warm day. Had .7” rain last night, and a wee bit this afternoon.
Daddy preached a hard message this morning, based on Psalm 78, Israel’s lack of steadfastness in following the Lord. It was a message for weeping. At the invitation, 33 people came to the altar.
We didn’t have very long for dinner before time for the second meeting. I was late getting there, as I got things cleaned up in the kitchen.
Nuanda preached on John 3:16-18, a good balance with the earlier message.
December 28. Daddy and I were both really tired last night for some reason. Neither of us could sleep at nap time. We played a game of Boggle together. Then started a game of dominoes.
It was very warm again last night, and warm when we got up this morning. The weather was nice, and we went for a little walk later in the morning while it wasn’t too hot. Didn’t go too far because of the boil (or whatever it is) on the bottom of my foot. We were glad we went for a walk this morning, as it turned cool and rainy this afternoon.
Nuanda came by early this morning with the January/February church calendar to be photocopied. Talked about wanting to teach the young people on marriage. We told him what we are planning to teach, and he is hoping to sit in on that. Then maybe he can do some further teaching while we are in town. And maybe Tema can do some teaching of the ladies’ meeting while we are in town.
We are thankful for the Lord’s help with checking Mark today. Spent about a half hour on one verse this morning — verse 16, trying to determine just what was a “hall” is and how it should be translated. It was hard to get a good translation for it, but finally came up with “ples banis.” It will need a picture illustration when taught. Checked from 16 through 26 this morning, and the rest of the chapter this afternoon.
After working on translation a while this morning, we took out garbage, ashes, and trash. I burned the trash while Daddy took care of the ashes and garbage. After that, I made the bed and folded the clothes. Then I worked on a Sunday school lesson in the computer until lunch time. Had leftover mashed "potaros" from yesterday. Didn’t have any fresh veggies so warmed up a can of peas and a can of beets.
Several of the men worked on the house for a while, getting more floor boards down. Now Tony has to cut down another tree to get boards to finish the rest of the floor. Don’t know when they are going to start on the walls. When they left we had our nap.
After nap and translation checking, I cut up a little popo and did up the dishes. Played the keyboard a while. Then got material from the Acer onto the flash drive so I could transfer stuff to this Dell again. The Acer battery is very low now. Will still have to use the Acer for printing as we couldn’t install the printer onto this computer.
Tuino came by with her baby this evening — along with her mother, her husband (Filip), husband’s brother, and her little sister. First time to see her since we came back. Said she got married and went to Meqauna just before we came. Said things are hard there in Meqauna right now with so many hevis.
