June 14. Wan came by around supper time too. Ivana was on her way over here to the haus sik, when the baby decided to come. So she delivered the baby down at the little river below Wan’s garden house. Wan let the health workers know, and they went with equipment to help her cut the umbilical cord and clean up the baby.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. James 3:13-18
June 15. Before tokples class was over this morning, Daddy popped in to say not to let the kids out for recess. (We were in the middle of playing games to reinforce the material they have been learning.) Daddy said that there was a man around who used to be a teacher in the community school. He is now on marijuana and is longlong (crazy). He was threatening to kill someone here since these people have not paid him compensation for whatever sickness he has. Later Daddy came by again, and said that the man was at the haus sik so it would be okay for the kids to go out. The men would keep a watch to make sure he didn’t come down here. Later on, he just disappeared somewhere. Anyway, because of the interruption, tokples class went a bit extra long; recess was late; and the other classes were shortened.
Daddy went to check on bookings for next week, but there are no planes Thursday or Friday. He will try to get in touch with NTM tomorrow to see if thy have anything coming this way.
“3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:3-9
June 16. The weather has been very dry, although there have been low clouds hanging over us the past couple days. I did hear some thunder and the sound of rain a few minutes ago, but it did not last long.
It looks like we may have to go to town on Wednesday next week, rather than Thursday. So guess we’ll have our school family day on Tuesday and that will be the last day of school for this little term.
There was a lot of material to cover in school today, but not enough time. Only two classes today, as usual on Wednesday — tokples and math. We did go a bit over time. I can see that the students need lots more drill before they go too far.
“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.” 1 Peter 4:7
June 17. About .15 inch rain during the night. Thankful for a good night’s sleep last night. School went well today, praise the Lord! We started preparing for family day, coming up on Tuesday, as well as finishing up the Bible lesson and playing a game, and learning our lessons in the other classes.
“7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 5:7-11
