May 19. No rain last night, but was cloudy and cool most of the day. A little rain early afternoon, and then a little sunshine.
After fixing our pancake breakfasts this morning and having quiet time, there was still time to sit and work at the computer before lotu. The students will finish three workbooks this week.
I was thankful to be feeling well enough to sit through the whole meeting this morning. By the end of the meeting, I was pretty tired, however. So, after lunch, I went down for my nap.
There were a lot of visitors from all different places - people from neighboring language groups who were here for the CARE training, plus members of the CARE team.
Daddy preached in the two meetings today on the second half of I Corinthians 11, the Lord’s supper. It was a really good message for bringing out the plan of salvation, and a clear Gospel presentation was given.
Interestingly, David’s older brother, Ubet, was here and stayed for both meetings. After the second meeting, he talked with Daddy quite a while about salvation. He seemed to have a clear understanding, and said that he was saved in 2011. He seemed sure that he is saved, but said he has not been baptized since his salvation. Ubet said he hadn’t planned to come here today. As a matter of fact, he hadn’t planned to go to church. He was on his way to his coffee garden to work and was almost to the airstrip when it occurred to him that he needed to go to church. So he turned around and went back home, washed himself and changed his clothes, and headed for church.
This afternoon, I was busy with more computer work. Then I made spaghetti for supper. There were plenty of leftover veggies.
This evening, there was a lot of printing and photo-copying to do. Also had to change the toner cartridge in the laser printer.
Daddy had soul-winning class and finished up a lesson so I need to hurry and get the next one ready.
“19But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 20For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:19,20
May 20. Quite chilly last night and down to the upper 50’s this morning. It was a fairly cool day and is turning cold again this evening. A dry day too.
Bethuel was back in school today. I was happy to see him, and he seemed happy to be back. He is not completely well yet and not very strong.
After I got the grading done this afternoon and got things ready for school tomorrow, I was able to get started on an update letter. Just finished that this evening.
“And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.” Acts 4:29
