January 6. Another cold, nippy day, but the sunshine felt good. It was a day to get out of the house for a while. Around 8:30 or so, we left the house to go to Kings Mountain. Stopped at Ingles first to see what they had.
Next we went to the Neighborhood Wal Mart. Said “hi” to Bro. Carpenter who was working in the produce area. Bought a few groceries there, and then went to Roses. It was a little after 12:00 when we got home.
After nap, I washed the blanket we had bought at Roses. It was irregular and had some black marks on it; but with the pre-wash spray, they were gone after washing. I was thankful for that. Now I am washing the comforter.
Also finished up the last quarter 2015 income report this afternoon. Around 4:30, I started getting supper. Cut up part of the broccoli we got today, also the rest of the baby carrots, some celery, onion, and garlic and put them on to cook while I prepared the rest of the ingredients for the casserole - leftover rice and chicken, a bit of fresh parsley, a cream sauce with some herbs, and cheese on top. Don’t know why I didn’t think of Braggs (soy sauce) since we just bought some at Ingles today.
January 7. The Lord gave us a pretty nice day today -- still cool and windy, but warmer than the past couple days. Today was go-to-Charlotte day. A little after 9:00, Daddy left to go get Connie. It was after 10:00 before they got back here. Loaded up a few things and headed for Charlotte -- first for Connie’s chiropractor appointment; then to Trader Joe’s to buy a few groceries. From there we went to Hobby Lobby in Gastonia so Connie could get a few craft things. Then to Blacksburg, SC for gas before coming home.
By the time we got food put away, it was after 3:00. I was good and ready for a nap.
“20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” Galatians 2:20,21
