October 11. The morning was very cool with lots of clouds and wind. The afternoon was warmer with more sunshine.
After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I stapled the Bible portions that I had printed for Dallas and the four girls. Then Daddy turned on the generator, and I scanned a couple little pictures to enlarge and print for a coming Sunday school lesson.
Shortly before church time, Daddy had one of his vertigo attacks so went back to bed until time for the preaching. David preached this morning, building on James 1:22 and referring to other verses with cross references about the same subjects. He did a good job, and we were pleased. The afternoon meeting was a business meeting.
Daddy took charge of the business meeting, which was for voting whether or not to receive David back as pastor and to ordain Amos as pastor. The vote was unanimous for receiving both of them.
After my nap, and after the meeting, I sorted through some of the picture files and got them better organized. Will be needing sets of pictures for the next set of Sunday school lessons which are on creation. Have found a few scrapbooks, and maybe the girls will glue some of the pictures into the scrapbooks when there aren’t any customers at the sale.
“And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.” Acts 19:18
October 12. Cool and cloudy most of the day and quite cold this evening.
Today was laundry day. Even though there wasn’t much sun, the Lord sent plenty of wind to dry to clothes.
All four girls were here this morning looking after the sales, and they were kept busy the whole time. Graham and Sosthenes were in for a while too. Daddy and I kept busy doing as much sorting and packing as we could around the house. Daddy had to take time out to talk with Ari this morning, and later to talk with Amos and David.
Sunny and Graham came this evening to practice on the computer. After doing dishes, Graham also helped take down the cupboard that was above the kitchen sink. Elijah and Sera have bought the cupboard.
“19Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” Acts 19:19,20
