December 23. The Lord sent us a rainy, rainy day. Our 46th anniversary today. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness through the years.
We went to Big Lots. It was open early for the holidays. Hardly anyone there. We enjoyed leisurely looking around. Then we went to the little Sears home store at the other end of the shopping plaza.
Came home after that. Had snack and answered text messages and phone calls most of the rest of the morning. Worked a little bit on the marriage booklet until dinner time.
This afternoon, I worked a bit more on that and also on the love section of Love, Mercy, and Grace. Christy and Connie came around 4:00 to be with us for our anniversary.
We had leftover turkey soup for supper. For dessert there was banana pudding that Connie had made. I cut up the fresh strawberries to go with it. Yum! The girls gave us a Keurig brewing system as a gift.*
“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” I Corinthians 11:1
*Note: A friend of ours gave toward this gift as well
December 24. Some rain today and very, very humid. Daddy and I went out early this morning to get a few groceries at WalMart and Aldi. On the way home, we went down Dellinger St. to South Hampton to look at a house, but it looked too small.
After arriving home and getting the food put away, I worked on the marriage booklet until time for lunch.
For supper, I baked a squash, cooked up the broccoli, and made a salad. Lewis wanted a hamburger so I fixed one for him. I just had the veggies and salad. That was all I needed.
Daddy had a call from Chuck C ( a friend), but it was an oops. He was trying to call the church to find out about the services on Sunday. He and his wife are on their way to Florida, and they were going to surprise us by stopping in for church tomorrow. They will still stop in, but it won’t be a surprise.
