June 27. Down to 52º this morning. Brrrr! I was hoping to get out into the sunshine this afternoon, but by the time nap was over, the sunshine was gone. The Lord did send us a little bit of rain this afternoon.
Daddy continued teaching on church ministries in lotu this morning. There was a pretty good group here, and they came at a good time so lotu wasn’t rushed.
We had our first discipline problem in school today, and I had to send Graham home with a note after recess. That made me sad. Esau seems to do pretty well in English class, but he does not know his math facts and is extremely slow in math. I hope to start working with him to drill him on the math facts so he can pick up speed. Otherwise he will be lost as we get farther along. I am thankful for the progress that Bethuel is making. He still has a little bit of a hard time with spelling, but is improving.
During English class this morning, we heard a lot of hollering. Tainaraba had killed 7 pigs and had called for Kelly to come over for a big party. So early this afternoon, a large part of the Owena people headed for Tainaraba for the party.
“24But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. 25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. 26For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.” Hebrews 7:24-26
June 28. It has been a very cool, rainy day. The wood stove has been going all day today. We were thankful that we decided to wait until tomorrow to do laundry.
After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I did a little walking. Then started on lesson plans for next week. Started school this morning with just Sosthenes and Bonita. They had gone to Tainaroaba but came back last night using torches (flashlights). Steve and Bethuel did not go to Tainaraba, but they were late coming to school. Graham and Esau came back this morning from Tainaraba. Graham was even later coming to school, and Esau later yet. We were ready to start English class before Esau came. Matthew and Amos also arrived back in time for English.
I have decided that after this term, I will switch to Science class instead of Owena language, and all of the students can be involved.
Most of the afternoon has been busy preparing for tomorrow’s classes. A project for Bible class and a game for English class took extra preparation.
A little before 8:00, I had my bath. Then got drills on the chalkboard for tomorrow’s math before getting my snack. It is 9:00 now.
According to the news, elections are going on with less trouble this year than in the past, so far. That is an answer to prayer.
“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” Hebrews 9:22
