February 17. It was raining when we got up this morning and was rainy until around mid-morning. The sun peeked out a few times today, but mostly the skies were overcast all day, and we kept the home fires burning.
It had been some time since I’d taken Clear Lungs, and I had forgotten that it is not the thing to take in the evening, especially along with Olive Leaf Extract. I was awake for the first half of the night last night so am tired this evening.
Today was pancake day. I did make pancakes for myself today as well as for Daddy - corn pancakes for myself. Since there hasn’t been any fruit for a while, I thought I could just use the fruit juice for my pancake syrup. It was a good idea and tasted good. But there must have been a good amount of orange juice in the juice, making too much acid in my body. I was very uncomfortable the rest of the morning.
After breakfast and quiet time, Daddy started the generator, and I did some printing that I didn’t get done last night. Also started making a math page on measurements for Sunny. After I turned off the computer and was waiting for people to come, I worked on writing another song. I wasn’t completely satisfied with one of the ones I had done for the anniversary meetings. It didn’t fit well with the tune, and the tune was hard to work with. So I chose a different tune and started again.
Due to the weather, people were late coming for lotu. The Lord brought out a good number again today. Daddy didn’t think about counting during the first meeting, but counted about 60 in the second. So there were probably around 80 in the first. There were around 10 or 12 people here from Marivo. Daddy came down with a cold this weekend so didn’t know how he would do with preaching. The Lord kept his voice strong enough for both meetings, and he is also teaching soul-winning class this evening. Praise the Lord that His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
In the first meeting, Daddy covered 1 Corinthians 7:1-11, and in the second meeting verses 12-16.
In between meetings, I got the song I was working on almost finished.
It was about 2:30 when we went for nap, and about 3:30 when I woke up. Daddy didn’t sleep because he got a tickle in his throat that made him cough. After nap, I wrote the last few words of the song and then tried it out at the keyboard. Much better. Thank the Lord for His help with that. I also trimmed and put together the poster for the two times table which the students will be learning tomorrow.
After supper and dishes, I just had a half hour to do some printing and computer work before people came for soul-winning class. Have been going back and forth to write answers on the chalkboard and working on lessons and journal notes in between.
“16And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. 17And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.” John 2:16,17
February 18. The Lord gave us a nice day today. Mostly sunshine. Hardly any wind, which made it very hot in the house.
Daddy took Benadryl before bed last night to see if that would help calm his cough so he could sleep. But it didn’t do a whole lot of good. We think the Benadryl is just too old. It is several years outdated. So he didn’t get much sleep, and neither did I.
After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I put a pot of soup beans and rice on the wood stove to cook. Then started getting ministry updates ready to send off. Wrote the letter a week ago, but with all our sicknesses, I haven’t been able to get back to preparing the e-mails and the mailing file.
After nap today, I finished correcting the students’ classwork and recorded the grades. Then I went to the kitchen to do baking - peanut butter cookies for Daddy, and granola for our breakfasts. Got supper on while the cookies were baking. Daddy helped with dishes again so that was a blessing.
Then I practiced keyboard, as there is choir practice scheduled for tomorrow evening. Finished cutting up multiplication flash cards. Put together the multiplication 3 table poster. Made a visual for “The B-I-B-L-E,” which they will learn in phonics class tomorrow. Put away the granola. Got a snack. And now it is time for bath.
“24But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 25And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.” John 1:24,25
