It has been a nice quiet day, and there is the nice gentle sound of rain on the roof this evening. We didn’t even wake up until after 6:30 this morning. Had breakfast and quiet time. Wrote a few e-mails. Finished getting animal pictures into the picture file. The animals are all on the desktop slide show now.
Karen Michaud came by to see if we wanted to order honey — two liters for K36. Somebody nearby has honey for sale.
Went for a nice walk, following the trail up on the hill and back around to the house. On the way, we met a sweet young lady up at the playground, taking care of five little children, two of them her own. Her name is Kelly and her husband’s name is Mike. MacGregor is their last name. Mike is the new helicopter pilot with NTM. Interestingly enough, they lived in Shelby, NC, in 2005, in a duplex on Charles Street. Her husband did part of his pilot training in Shelby.
Had leftover spaghetti for dinner today, and I fried up the zucchini to go with it. This afternoon, after nap, I worked on checking Luke. Before and after supper, I worked on notes on the Kristen Famili (Christian family) for Bible school classes. Had gotten some books out of the library to help with ideas.
(Pro 14:26,27) In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence:and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountainof life, to depart from the snares of death.
January 15. Rain during the night. Cloudy most of the day with some spitting rain in the morning.
Woke up a little early, but didn’t hurry getting up. After getting dressed, I put clothes in the washing machine and got it going. Then had breakfast. Hung out the clothes. Had quiet time. Worked a while on checking Luke. Took a little stretch. Finished putting pictures in the "flower" file. Took a break. Wrote a couple e-mails. Had dinner — leftover spaghetti and broccoli and zucchini. Had nap. Washed dishes. Washed hair. Worked on the Kristen Famili notes. Finished section on love. Took a break. Had snack. Worked more on Kristen Famili. Cooked eggs for egg salad sandwiches (almost forgot). Had supper. Worked more on Kristen Famili. Finished section on husband’s role. Peeled carrots and put peas and carrots on to cook for potluck dinner tomorrow. Shelled corn to add to peas and carrots when I warm them up tomorrow. Had snack. Guess that about covers the day’s activities.
31The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise. 32He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. 33The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. Proverbs 15:31-33

January 16. Some rain again during the night last night. It was a very warm night. Still cloudy when we got up this morning, but the sun came out later in the day, and it turned out to be a nice day.
Up around 6:00 this morning. Pancakes for breakfast. Quiet time. Dishes. Put some winterscape pictures in the picture file. Worked on that while we were talking to Christy and Connie too. We didn’t really have much news to share today, but it was so nice just to hear their voices and chat a bit.
After nap, I worked on checking Luke a while. Then did some packing. Then worked on the Kristen Famili notes. Had supper. Worked more on the Kristen Famili. Did dishes. Worked more on the Kirsten Famili. And that about sums up our day.
“20He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. 21The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. 22Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. 23The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. 24Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." Proverbs 16:20-24
