May 31. Didn’t hear the rat last night, and there was no sign of it having been around other than its scent that it leaves behind. We went to bed before 10:15 last night, and it was a little before 6:15 when I woke up this morning. Daddy had already been up for a while and had a fire going. I was thankful for a pretty good night’s rest.
When I got up the sky and hillsides were glowing bright yellow. Soon there was a beautiful, huge rainbow in the west. It stayed there for a long time too and was still there when I finished getting dressed. So off I went with the camera and got a few pictures. I could hardly get the top of the arch in a picture, it was so high.
(Sorry, Mom did not send the pictures she took, so the pictures above are my own. :-) )
It was a little later than last week before the pancakes were done this morning. Also made myself some date/raisin syrup. After breakfast and quiet time, I wrote another e-mail and then sent and received e-mails. Also graded the challenge math papers that didn’t get done yesterday.
It was after 10:30 before lotu started. Don’t know why it was so late. Some people went to the cry (for Nuanda’s mother) last night, but Matthew did not go. Erisapet went for a while. Some people didn’t even come to church this morning until the end of the message and the invitation time. Matthew deviated from Ephesians today and talked about those with whom we should and shouldn’t worship. David preached the second meeting, starting with a short reference to what Matthew had preached. Then David continued the lessons he had been teaching
After the meetings, I looked over tomorrow’s lessons and wrote the new Bible verse on the chalkboard for the students to translate tomorrow. Then I made some “Chex mix” because all my salty snacks are gone, and I don’t care that much for sweet snacks. Also made a canned food pie for supper again. No onions this time. Filled the crust with tuna, canned carrots, canned creamed corn, canned baked beans, a white sauce, and grated parmesan cheese.
Have started writing some songs for the students to sing at their graduation. Am going to try to finish up classes after one more term, Lord willing.
