June 25. Brrrr! It is cold! No rain today, but clouds, wind, and cold. Had two jackets on until late morning, even with the wood stove going. Sat close to the wood stove part of the morning because it was too cold everywhere else. It was already down to 59º before 7:00 this evening which is unusual. Often that is the early morning temperature. Have a warm bathrobe and jacket on this evening to try to keep warm
Today I thought, “Here it is Thursday already, and our school holiday will soon be over. Haven’t even started making lesson plans yet. I’d better get onto that before doing anything else.” So most of the day was spent taking care of school matters. I still had math lessons to grade from last week, and reading lessons that Sunny and Graham had corrected but I hadn’t marked or recorded grades yet. Made up new attendance sheet and grade sheets, and then took care of the grading needs. Made some white-out changes in all the math books as well. Those jobs kept me busy until almost noon.
I did work this afternoon at the computer. Finished up an outline for the next Bible school lesson for Daddy to teach. Then I made banana cream pudding for our supper. I discovered a container of organic whipping cream in the pantry. Daddy said it had come in the package from Christy and Connie. How nice! (Thank you!) Banana cream pudding with whipped cream. Yum! We also had coconut on top, and I had graham crackers underneath.
Right after supper, I went to work writing lesson plans. Finished those around 7:30. Then I wrote questions for the Bible school lesson before printing out a copy for Daddy to proofread. Also printed out a copy of the next Bible lesson for school so I can proofread that and then make student copies. Wrote a short e-mail while I was waiting for dishwater to get hot. Then I did the dishes.
“42And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” Acts 10:42,43
June 26. No rain today and a little more sunshine, but still cold. Had both a sweatshirt and a jacket on most of the morning, and just a jacket most of the rest of the day. Sat near the fire again for a good while, this time with a lap desk and the computer.
I was thankful to have gotten quite a bit done at the computer this morning. Later in the morning, I took a break from that kind of work and sorted through another box.
Made some dumplings to go in our soup today since there weren’t many veggies left in it, mostly broth. It was the last day for that nice soup.
Bonita came this morning and cleaned out the ditches and pulled weeds under the house. She is supposed to come back tomorrow to pull out big weeds that are growing tall everywhere amongst the grass in the yard.
Spent most of the afternoon at the computer. This evening, as soon as the generator was turned on, I got busy printing -- lessons for school and for Bible school.
