April 5. The Lord gave us a dry day, mostly sunny, but very cool. Thank the Lord for a nice day for drying clothes.
I was thankful that Daddy put out the glue trap last night too, and that the rat took the bait. Between the rat and the back pain, I have not slept very well the past few nights. I did sleep a bit better last night, but was very tired today.
First thing this morning, I hung out the clothes. Then I had breakfast and Bible reading before lotu. Mike wasn’t here this morning so Matthew did the teaching.
After lotu, I got the unleavened bread made for the Lord’s supper tomorrow. Worked on this coming weeks’ lesson plans until time to call Christy and Connie. Enjoyed a nice chat with them - just too short. Worked more on lesson plans after that. Then lay down and had a nap before lunch. Also had my regular nap after lunch.
Finished lesson plans this afternoon, got the vitamins and things put away that had come in the packages from C & C, practiced keyboard a while, and got an e-mail ready to send to Christy and Connie with journal notes from the past couple weeks.
After supper and dishes, I did a bunch of printing.
Matthew is here teaching discipleship class this evening, but it looks like mostly young people here. And Daddy is heating water for bath. School students are supposed to practice music after the meeting before we have our baths.
“And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.” James 2:23
April 6. The day started out very cool and foggy, but ended up very warm this afternoon. Even had doors and windows open until about 7:00 this evening. The Lord gave us a pretty sunset this evening too.
The morning was busy, making pancakes for breakfast, and then after breakfast and quiet time, getting everything ready for the Lord’s supper today. I even had time after that to start work on the next Bible lesson for school. Not sure if I will need it next week or not. It depends on whether or not we finish the current lesson this week.
Matthew preached this morning on the rest of II Corinthians 8 - verses 16-24. He made some good applications. Then he encouraged people to prepare their hearts for the Lord’s supper. About 20 people came to the altar and prayed.
I was thankful that we had time for a nap after lunch. Matthew was counseling with Max concerning salvation, and Max got saved today. Praise the Lord for that! It was about 2:30 before the afternoon meeting started so after observing the Lord’s supper, they only had two groups sing specials - the school choir and the youth choir.
Worked more on the Bible lesson until supper time. After supper and dishes, I cut paste-overs for the next few math lessons. Just finished that a few minutes ago.
People are here now for soul-winning class.
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” James 3:17
