February 6. Thank the Lord for another dry day, although lots of clouds again. Daddy went over to MAF this morning to double check and see if we will still be able to get a twin otter flight on Wednesday. Also picked up some oil for the generator.
While he was gone, I put the chicken on to cook so it would be ready to cut up later for the stew for supper.
When Daddy got back, we went uptown and did our bread and veggie shopping so we won’t have to do that tomorrow in case Randy would need his car. Went around to New Century and got our eggs too.
Got home around noon. Had our lunch. Daddy packed up a box of bread and meat to take over to MAF and put in the freezer. Took that along with other cargo for our flight Wednesday. While he was out he also did bulk shopping. I took a nap while he was gone. Then prepared potatoes, carrots, and snow peas to add to our stew and got those cooked up. Packed up a couple boxes of stuff that was still lying around. Cut up the whole wheat vienna loaf we had bought to go with supper and spread butter on it to toast later. Cut up the chicken for the stew.
Around 5:00, we heard Air Niugini land so Daddy went over to the airport to pick up Randy. I put the stew on to heat up and spread garlic on the vienna bread and toasted it. There was some minced garlic in the fridge that I used. Soon Daddy was back with Randy, and we enjoyed supper and good fellowship, and a little ice cream for dessert. After Randy left, I got the kitchen cleaned up and food put away; just haven’t washed the dishes yet. Will do that when it is time for a break from the computer.
“1Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” Romans 10:1-3
February 7. Praise the Lord for holding back the rain! He gave us some nice sunshine this morning. This afternoon, the skies looked quite threatening, and a few drops of rain fell. But there was no more. The skies are still cloudy, but not threatening as earlier.
Early this morning, there was laundry to do. Had quiet time. Made the bed. Packed up a few things. Did some work on the computer. Later in the morning, Daddy went out shopping. Randy went with him and helped him get the doors and lumber to take to the hangar. Then Daddy brought Randy back to his apartment, and Daddy went and did other last minute things. I wrote a couple e-mails. Just before dinner, I checked to see if the clothes were dry. Most of them were so got them down and folded them. Put away what belongs here and packed away most of the rest to take home. Then I had my dinner.
After dinner, I got the rest of the clothes in. Daddy didn’t eat until later. Then he went out shopping again, and I had my nap.
Daddy had gone to New Century to pick up some more Maggi noodles and cooking oil. Then he stopped at Papindo to get onions. There weren’t any bagged onions at Papindo so he had me go out with him to pick out loose onions. We went by the pharmacies first as we had forgotten to check on some kind of lice treatment for Amos’s children. But the pharmacies were already closed.
Had supper and did dishes, and packed up a few more food items. This evening, the neighbours are going to come over for ice cream.
“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” Romans 11:6
