The weather was very foggy when we got up this morning, but there hasn’t been any rain today.
All of the students were late for school this morning, and several of them were very late and missed the review of the Bible and music lessons in preparation for the test tomorrow. So we’ll see how they do. Toward the end of Bible class, each one had a chance to practice an exercise on the keyboard using middle C, D, and E. They enjoy being able to do that. Then we started learning “God Inap Mekim Olgeta Samting” (“The God of the Impossible”).
Their worksheet in phonics class today was a good test to see if they can follow instructions and also copy material accurately.
In their social studies book, they had a crossword puzzle to do - a first for them. I put part of it on the chalkboard to help them start out. Several of them caught on pretty well.
This afternoon, there was a fair bit of grading left to do, plus recording of grades. Daddy cut up the pumpkin for me so I could get it ready to cook. While the pumpkin was cooking, I got brownies made for Daddy; and after supper I made some crackers for myself so now I finally have a healthy snack on hand again. The crackers have sesame seeds, garlic salt, rosemary, basil, and oregano, and they do help to satisfy that craving for a healthy snack.
“42And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” Acts 10:42,43
May 31. Last day of May. No rain today.
No Bible school this evening as most of the men are off to their gardens and Amos and Mata just got back from carrying coffee to Okapa.
Phinehas and Dallas both did really well in their keyboard lesson today. This week they have the names of the staff lines to learn, the G triad to practice and use in a couple songs, and three little songs to learn. Since we finished classes early today, we had their lesson right after our lunch so then I didn’t have to think about getting up from nap at a certain time.
This evening, I have been working on lesson plans for this coming week.
