February 24. This is Sunday’s journal, but I am writing it on Monday. Sunday evening was super busy. There was LOTS of printing to do, besides writing answers on the chalkboard for soul-winning class.
It was a cool, cloudy day, like the previous Sunday, and was windy too. Saw the sun peek through now and then.
Enjoyed our pancake breakfast and quiet time. Then I worked on getting the music sheets ready for printing so the choir can start learning new songs tomorrow night. Hopefully I will be able to sing so I can teach them. I haven’t had much voice lately. Worked on revising one of the songs again too as it just seemed too complicated for them.
David was the first one here for the morning meeting. After that, we waited quite a while before others came so again we got off to a late start. Tomas led the singing, and then Daddy preached on 1 Corinthians 7:17-28. I didn’t stay in the meeting room long as the cold wind was blowing in my ear, and my leg was hurting. So I retired to my recliner in the bedroom and listened from there. Then we had our lunch, and again I went to the bedroom for the afternoon meeting because there was still a cold wind blowing, and the windows and door were open in the meeting room. In the afternoon Daddy covered verses 29-31.
What was left of the afternoon after nap was spent making sure all the music sheets were ready for printing later and also making up a couple math papers for printing.
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24
February 25. 7:30 p.m. Just finished practicing keyboard - new songs for the choir to start learning tomorrow evening. No generator on this evening as there isn’t anything left in the freezer that needs to keep cold.
No rain in the night or today, but lots of clouds again and very cool. The sun peeked out a few times, but didn’t stay long.
This morning before school, I wrote yesterday’s journal notes as I hadn’t gotten to do that last night. The students had their Bible test this morning and started the new lesson. In English, they learned the digraphs “oi” and “oy.” And in spelling there were quite a few words that were new to them. Several of them got confused between “both” and “bath” as it was their first introduction to those two words.
There was a lot of grading to do today. I was thankful to have gotten quite a bit of it done in school as I had other things to do this afternoon too. I needed to wash my hair, which I did after nap. And after finishing the grading and recording grades, I made a cake for Phinehas’s birthday tomorrow. Also went through the boxes of prizes to see what I could find for Phinehas and for the students to choose from after they say all their Bible verses individually (John 3:1-11) from memory.
