Greetings on this beautiful September night.
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair." (II Corinthians 4:7,8)
Thank you to those who have prayed for Dad and Mom. Thank you for your prayers for them during the difficult time when the people were meeting a couple of weeks ago. Things went much better than had been hoped. We thank the Lord. We heard from Dad and Mom tonight, and Dad was getting ready to preach the Sunday morning service.
However, new difficulties have arisen. Dad and Mom face the problems in the church and now in their other ministries in Owena as well. When they called tonight they were very discouraged. Mom was having such a hard time that she could barely speak to us. Please pray for them to have wisdom from the Lord. They really need to know what to do.
Also, in addition to the problems on the spiritual and emotional side of things, the problems in physical areas continue as well. There is still hardly any rain, though some has fallen on the mountain ridges. The gardens there are doing OK, but the gardens in the lower areas are still dried up. Also, Dad and Mom are having trouble with their computers, even their new one. Also, the generator quit working, so the only power they have is solar power. This means they are very limited in how much they can use the computer, and they are not able to print any material. They do not know if they will be able to charge their mobile (cell) phone so we do not know if we will hear from them again in 2 weeks or not. They do fly out to town on September 30. We should hear from them then by email.
They are doing OK with their health though Dad has a cold and Mom's knees have been bothering her. Otherwise they did not mention any particular health needs. We thank the Lord for this as well.
Thank you for your prayers for them. Please pray that God will encourage and strengthen them. God is good, and God is faithful.
