January 25. Got up a little before 6:00 this morning and went out to hang clothes as soon as I was ready. Was thankful they got mostly dry before the rain came. Same weather story today as it has been for a week and a half now.
Mike was in charge of lotu this morning. Talked about love as the fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22. There were a lot of prayer requests again.
After that, I worked on lesson plans for this coming week of school. At 10:00, we called to talk to Christy and Connie, but Christy was at work. So we hung up, and that’s when we went out to get in the clothes because the skies looked threatening. Just had to hang up a few of them in the house. Worked more on lesson plans; then called C & C back at 11:00. Christy was home and had had her supper. Enjoyed a nice chat with them. After that I worked on lesson plans until dinner time. Just had one tiny bit left to do on lesson plans after lunch so finished things up before nap.
After nap, I got busy gathering things together for school for Peninnah, and figuring out what I need to print this evening. Then I got math lessons ready in the computer for this coming week. By the time I finished that, it was supper time. After supper, I burned the trash, did the dishes, and cleaned the bathroom.
“14Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.” I Thessalonians 5:14,15
January 26. Got up a little later this morning, but it took me a long time to get to sleep last night.
No change in the weather, except the morning was colder and rainy. The outreach team went to Marivo this morning. They did not get to preach, however, because there was one that withstood them with much talk and made false accusations against them. Matthew told him that, if they had done something wrong, he should come and show them from God’s Word so they could see what they had done wrong and make it right. The man did not try to show them anything.
Please pray for the outreach team to continue to be faithful and not to be discouraged.
After breakfast and quiet time this morning, I got all the papers that I had printed last night collated, punched, and put into their folders. By then it was 9:45, but there was nobody around for lotu. Figured they wouldn’t be here for a while since it was such a cold, dreary morning. So I decided to do some computer work until people started coming. Got a test made up for the lesson we are studying in John’s gospel.
It was 10:30 before people started showing up for lotu, and 10:45 before the meeting got started. Matthew preached on II Corinthians 7:1,2 this morning. After the preaching and invitation, the five baptismal candidates gave their testimonies. Then they went down to the river for the baptism, and afterward had their fellowship dinner.
We had our dinner and nap, and afterward I cut Daddy’s hair. Then I swept the floor in the meeting room and got the room set up for school tomorrow. After supper and dishes, I got all my lesson material set up out there for class tomorrow.
No soul-winning class this evening because of Daddy’s cough.
“16Rejoice evermore. 17Pray without ceasing. 18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” I Thessalonians 5:16-18
