As Dad and Mom go back into the village of Owena, please be in prayer for the members of Glory Independent Baptist Church. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of the people to hear, receive, and obey God's Word. Here is Mom's journal entry for yesterday.
August 1. Praise God for His blessings today. Pastor Meader’s message last night was a special blessing and challenge. He brought out that walking in the Spirit (from I Thessalonians 5) begins with rejoicing evermore, then praying without ceasing, then giving thanks in everything. Tonight we are listening to part two of “How to Walk in the Spirit.”
Today I stayed here at the flat and got some things done on the computer while Daddy went out shopping, looking for some of the extra things that people wanted, plus building supplies, and a few groceries.
I got a few e-mails written and sent and worked on getting notes from some of the material Bro. Ogle had left here. It would be great if we can start a youth program by the beginning of the year. We also feel that we need to start introducing missions and soul-winning to the church as soon as possible. That should be the heart of the church.
Timoti came along after Daddy left for town. He picked up Philemon’s books. Then he went uptown and found Daddy and helped him with buying. When they came back to the house, he helped Daddy carry the packed boxes down to the truck and take them over to NTM.
After nap this afternoon, I washed my hair before doing more work on the youth notes. About 4:15, I started preparing the Chinese cabbage for supper. We had leftover spaghetti to go with it.
“Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.” Philippians 4:1
“8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.” Philippians 4:8,9
