Changed desktops (pictures on desktops?) on the computers last night, put pictures in from the camera, wrote in journal. When Daddy turned the generator off at 9:30, there was already another inch of rain in the guage. Didn’t hear it raining any more during the night, and there were only another couple tenths by morning. That was some rain.
This morning, Daddy and I worked on rechecking Romans 9. Didn’t quite get finished before there were interruptions. It was a somewhat harder chapter. Took quite a while on one of the verses, trying to get it rearranged so it was more readable — less complex. After that, I looked over chapters 10 and 11 so I’ll be ready when we check those together. Painted a while. Then worked on letter for Christy and Connie before warming up dinner. Had the rest of the soup, and added some dumplings. Had an early nap. Up at 1:30. Worked some more on painting. Daddy worked on painting the door for the addition. Also put a fresh coat of enamel paint on the kitchen counter top. I washed my hair. Finished up Christy & Connie’s letter up through yesterday’s journal notes. Then played the keyboard a while before getting supper.
Erendora raked again. The men brought and split more bamboo, ready to start weaving the south wall.
Devit and some others worked on cutting the grass on the airstrip today. He said that Silvia is feeling a little less pain.
Five of Matyu’s group and four of Daniel’s came last night. Matyu and his group worked more on the tract. Erik and Devit with two others finished four verses of Matyu 5. It started raining a little bit while they were here. Don’t think it rained a whole lot last night. It was after 10:30 when we got to bed.
This morning, Daddy and I finished checking Romans 9 and checked chapter 10. Then checked chapter 11 this afternoon. Praise the Lord for His help in revising those.
Looked over Romans 12 to see what changes could be made. Serah came and did dishes, prepared food, swept floors, and cleaned the benches. I put corrections in the computer from Romans and last night’s work. Worked a while on the happy picture until dinner time.
Worked more on the happy picture after nap, before we worked on Romans. Then I cut up the last popo, a red one. Had a little snack. Then started baking — orange sugar cookies for Daddy, and sesame crackers for myself. The homemade crackers certainly tasted good.
The men came early this morning, and worked until 5:45 this evening. Got both inner and outer south walls up. Now they need to finish the floor and get the small sections of wall done at the porch area. Praise to God for the progress that is being made on the addition.
Worked a little while at the computer last evening, but was tired. Daddy was tired too, so after a while, we just finished our game of dominoes that we had started one other night a while ago. After that, we read Bible and went to bed.
Rained all night last night and was raining when we got up this morning. Serah came at 7:00 and washed clothes. By the time she was done washing, the rain had stopped so she was able to hang them out.
Daddy and I checked chapters 12 and 13 of Romans today. Will try to finish checking tomorrow or Friday. Then get copies printed out for Nuanda to do the final revision in tokples.
When we went to lotu at 9:00, the ground was very soggy from so much rain. Even with my boots on, the mud splattered up to my knees. The weather was quite cool, and there was a cool breeze blowing through the one window space which has no glass. I had a long-sleeve blouse on, and my sweater too; but the breeze blew on my head and in my ears. I kept covering my left ear with my sweater.
There was no work on the house today, except that a bunch of men hoisted up the outer east wall which hadn’t been fastened in place yet. Then they put some nails in it to keep it in place. Hopefully by the time we get back from town, Tony will have more ooqdi ready to finish the floor.
Before lunch, I worked a short while on the happy picture, and finished up the painting after nap. Now I just need to do the fine tuning — outline all the little parts so they will stand out.
Nuanda came around 2:45 and was here ‘til about 4:30 so we were able to talk over quite a few things. We talked about Bible school, school, translation, etc.
After he left, I had a little fruit snack, even though it was about time to get supper. Then we had supper. After that, I folded the rest of the clothes, made the bed, and washed up.
