April 17. It was about 10:45 before we went to bed last night, and we didn’t wake up until 6:30 this morning. It was still raining when we woke up. Don’t know if it rained all night, or not. We only had a little bit of sunshine today. We are praying for sunshine for a couple days before our trip back to Owena.
It was about 8:00 before pancakes were ready for breakfast. Just had a few minutes after eating to walk and pray before we called Christy and Connie. Enjoyed a long chat with them. After that I got potatoes ready to cook for dinner. They were nice yellow potatoes again. I really like the yellow potatoes we get here in town.
Then we had our own time in the Word and prayer. Forgot to bring out CD messages this time. We could have gone to church with Hollands, but they left while we were talking with our daughters. Since we’ll be out at the same time as Hollands again next time, maybe we’ll arrange to call Christy and Connie at a different time so we can go out to church with them.
After that, I sent a note and the progress report off to Pastor Surrett. Then did the dishes while the taters were cooking for dinner. We had leftover veggies from the other day. Power was out for an hour or so around noon so couldn’t send e-mails.
Had a nice long nap too. Woke up with a headache. Have been having headaches in the afternoon so know it is time for another parasite treatment. Power came back on while we were napping.
After nap, the sun was shining a little bit so decided to wash my hair. It didn’t shine for long though. By the time I finished washing my hair, we heard raindrops on the roof.
David called a bit ago. He and family are all really sick with fever, body pains, vomiting. They have been sick for several days now. (They were sick the evening before we left. As a matter of fact, their middle boy, Clemen, has been sick for several weeks now. Wonder what they have. If you think of it, please pray for David and famly.)
“And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.” Ezekiel 28:26
Work on the hymn book is also coming along. While Dad and Mom were out in town, Mom sent a picture of the cover for the hymn book. (See picture above). Thank the Lord for His help in this project as well.
April 18. Went to bed a little earlier last night, and got up earlier this morning so Daddy could help Dave and Carol load up the truck and then take them over to the hangar. So he had his breakfast in two parts — one pancake with eggs before he left, and his other two pancakes when he got back.
We were thankful for a bit drier day today as we are praying for drier weather for when we go home. Looks like we will be going on Thursday and doing two 206 flights with MAF. They didn’t have anything else scheduled for that day so maybe we can get in early if the weather is good.
After breakfast, we went out shopping — first to New Century. Back to the house with stuff from there. Then uptown to Papindo, Post Office (no mail — boo hoo), Bintangor, Didiman, SVS, a hardware store around the corner from SVS, ChemCare Pharmacy, Chemica. By then it was 12:00 so we headed home. Had lunch. Daddy packed up more boxes and took stuff over to the hangar, then did more shopping. I had a nap, then did dishes. Wrote a couple letters. By then Daddy got back. Praise the Lord, he had found some pipe fittings at the last hardware he knew of to try —Tamik Hardware. And by the time he got back, I was ready for an eye break. Walked around and stretched my legs and rested my eyes a while, and Daddy looked up stuff on the internet. I kept watching the clock for supper time to get here — for some reason I was hungry. Then I got out leftovers, and we warmed them up for our supper — chicken ‘n’ rice, and veggies.
Now it is back to the computer — more letters, journal, and e-mails.
“12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:12,13
