February 5. Another dry day, partly cloudy, partly sunny. Very warm again this afternoon and evening. It tried to rain a little bit; but, so far, only a few drops have fallen.
Amos preached a short message this morning from Acts 4:13-18. Matthew made some comments on the preaching and applications for our present situation. Then he took prayer requests and prayed.
Lotu was over around 8:15 so we got an early start on classes today. Had recess from 9:15 to 9:30. Then the students finished the math review lesson that they had started yesterday. I was thankful for extra time after that for spelling and English as we had part of the spelling lesson to finish that we started Monday, plus part of an English lesson we needed to finish. We did get out of classes early (about 11:30).
It was a blessing to have an earlier lunch and nap. Had a fairly long nap again today too. There was quite a bit of grading to do this afternoon. After getting the grades recorded and getting things ready for classes tomorrow, I had a half hour or less to do a little work on the computer. Started getting the next set of math lessons ready for printing. Tomorrow they will have a test on chapter 1. Then Friday, they will start chapter 2.
A young lady with three young children brought us a nice watermelon this afternoon. It was a good one and tasted sweet too.
“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.” II Thessalonians 3:6
February 6. The Lord gave us a mostly sunny day.
After we reviewed the Bible verse this morning, the students had their Bible test. Then we divided into teams and played a Bible quiz game until the end of class time.
We also finished our reading lesson early today in phonics class so I started reading the story of Carlos to the students.
In math class, they had a speed drill and then chapter 1 test. They all did pretty well on the test.
We finished school a little before noon today so we were able to have an earlier lunch and nap again. I took advantage of that and had a little bit longer nap.
After nap, I washed my hair. Then cut up some more of the watermelon for our snack. Graded the rest of today’s schoolwork and recorded grades. Put a couple eggs on to cook for egg salad for supper. Got things ready for classes tomorrow.
This evening, after doing dishes, I prepared a few veggies for tomorrow’s dinner and then practiced keyboard until the generator was turned on. After that, there was printing to do.
David is here teaching Bible school again this evening.
