November 29. Praise the Lord, we are back home! I am so thankful to be home. Last night the “music” from somewhere in the neighborhood blasted all night long. The other nights, at least, there was quietness during the night. I am thankful that most of the week was quiet.
Today was another very dry day. They have had no rain in Owena since we went to town, and only those few sprinkles on Sunday afternoon in town. The skies were very hazy today. We are thankful for a safe flight home. The pilots weren’t too happy about the condition of the airstrip. It is too rough.
Got up about 5:30 this morning so we could be at the hangar by 7:00. There wasn’t really much to do since we had done most of it the day before. We didn’t have to wait too long at the hangar today. There were lots of workers there and lots of pilots too. They were all hustling around trying to get things ready for the 206 and the twin otter. Philemon and Penina showed up at a good time too. It was 8:30 or after when we took off in the twin otter for Owena. It was a blessing to get home early, and we were able to get everything unpacked and put away before noon. We had sandwiches for lunch; and for supper, I fixed spaghetti, and carrots to which I added the leftover broccoli and cauliflower that I had cooked yesterday.
After an hour nap, I organized and put away the mail, spiral notebooks and things the girls had sent, and office things we had taken to town. Then got the computers set up in the office. Finished making corrections on the soul-winning lesson so I can print out copies for those who come to class this coming Sunday. Organized the yarn.
Now it is 9:00 p.m. People just left after choir practice. There was just a small group here tonight. I didn’t know if people were going to come or not. It was about 7:30 before we got started. I had just finished dishes a bit before 7:00.
