October 14. Just before going to bed last night, I could feel a chill in the air. I looked at the thermometer and the temperature had already dropped to 57º. I thought, “The skies must be clear. I’ll go look and see if there are any stars. So I went to the guest room where it was dark and looked out the window. Lots of God’s beautiful stars up there in the sky. Put two quilts on the bed before settling down for the night. I could feel a cool breeze blowing on my face after I got into bed. By morning, the temperature had only dropped another three degrees. But it was the coldest morning we had had since Daddy went to town. Many of the mornings were as warm as 60º. I did not make any fires in the wood stove. My eyes were very happy not to have fires.
We were in the middle of our reading lesson in phonics class this morning when the plane arrived. I was asking questions about the story of Moses and God’s call for him to go back and deliver the Israelites from Egypt. I had just asked the question, “Did God think that Pharaoh would let the children of Israel go?” And they had answered, ”God was sure he would not let them go.” Then because the students needed to go up to the plane and carry cargo, I said, “But I will let you go.” So they all laughed and took off for the airstrip.
I was SOOOO happy to have Daddy back home again. It had been a LOOOONG time - eleven days.
By the time the students got back to the classroom, it was too late to finish our reading lesson. So we went on to our math class. I was glad we did because we needed a little extra time for that today. While the students were doing their written work, I got the freezer loaded up and helped Daddy put away some other things.
After lunch, I was good and ready for a nap. Afterward, I washed the chalkboard, graded the science lessons, got lessons ready for tomorrow and then started on supper. Had to cut the chicken up into small pieces. Diced a couple onions and sautéed them in the pressure cooker; then added the chicken bits to brown. Added bouillion and herbs and water and let that start cooking while I got the veggies ready - potatoes, carrots, and broccoli. When all was done, we enjoyed a nice chicken stew for supper. Daddy got quite a bit of chicken in town this time because the price was down considerably. So we plan to have chicken salad sandwiches for some of our lunches.
“ 7Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book…. 12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last…. 20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:7,12,13,20
