Thanks to all of you who prayed for my dad. He was able to talk to a doctor the day after he had his scary incident. The doctor does not think he had a heart attack. He thinks that the blood pressure dropped in my dad's head causing him to faint. When he goes out to town again in a few weeks, he will see a doctor and is supposed to get an EKG. Dad still experiences a good bit of weakness, possibly due to hitting his head, which he struck on the edge of the bathtub when he passed out and fell down.
With the Lord's help, Dad still plans to preach the special meetings. Mom sent an email this morning with a little more information and some things to pray for in regard to these meetings, and I thought I'd share them here. Thank you again for praying.
Special meetings start on Sunday – two meetings each day Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday; one meeting Wednesday morning, followed by a fellowship dinner and then the baptism. Right now there are five who will be baptized as two more young people were saved last Saturday. What a blessing to see these young people getting saved! How we wish there were someone to teach them and prepare their lives for serving Him! I am so thankful for the opportunity to help mold nine of these young people in our Christian school. But there are so many more young people who need guidance and encouragements in their Christian lives and many more who still need to be saved. There are quite a few young people who attend GIBC.
Please be much in prayer for the special meetings – for Daddy as he preaches (he has not felt very strong since he fell a week ago), for souls to be saved, for believers to be stirred up to live whole-heartedly for the Lord. And for me as I play for the two choirs. I don’t play that well as it is, and when I get nervous it is easy to mess things up even more. I want things to sound nice and the Lord to be glorified.
