March 14. The Lord sent us buckets of rain last night. It rained off and on all evening and all through the night. 2.3” rain all together. Has been rainy this afternoon and evening as well.
This morning, we did laundry. Daddy had already told Javin to start the generator at 6:30 so decided we would just have our leftover pancakes tomorrow morning instead of today.
About mid-morning, Daddy went up to the house site. Toni, Devit, Emos, and Matyu met him up there and helped him mark off the ground for our house, level it, and mark it with string so they’ll know where to put the stones and foundation posts. We need to get moved out of here soon and get this house torn down so they can use the materials. David told Daddy this morning that they want to build a church building separately and not as part of our house. So that is fine. They will build it on the same property. After our house is finished, we can meet in our living room until the church building is done.
I did a little work on the computer and a little packing in the kitchen. Trying to get the cupboards unloaded so they can be taken down. People knocked on the door quite a few times too.
Daddy got back just in time for dinner. It had started getting cloudy out so we decided we had better get the clothes in first. It is a good thing we did because it started raining when we got out the door. We had to hurry to get everything down before it rained too hard.
Had dinner, nap, prayer time, crochet time, snack. Noticed that the other popo was going bad so cut it all up and made a popo crisp with it and the rest of the one I cut up yesterday. That tasted good with our supper. Finished getting the upper cupboard unloaded. Worked a while on translating Nehemiah. Chapter 5 was a bit difficult. Only got eleven verses done in a little under an hour.
God has promised that those who seek Him will be found of Him. “But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29
Eric has finished translating Matyu 13, and we gave him chapters 14-18 tonight to work on.
The work of pastors: “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15
March 15. Another .8” rain yesterday afternoon and evening. Have been praying for less rain in the daytime so we can work on building. The Lord did give us more sunshine today and less rain. Winds came up early. Not long after breakfast, Daddy went up the hill to the house site. He and David and Matyu finished putting up the string markers and squaring things up for the house. Now they need stones and posts so they can start building.
I did some more packing until about 10:00. Then I worked on checking Owena Matthew until 11:00. I am way behind on that job. At 11:00, I started getting things ready for dinner — broccoli, uxai, and spring onions in the pressure cooker; buckwheat and whole wheat spaghetti with tomato-meat sauce (Daddy’s favorite).
Daddy got back just about noon.
This afternoon, after prayer time and snack time, I washed my hair. Then worked more on checking Owena Matthew. Got cookie dough mixed up before supper. Was going to get them on the trays and into the oven right after supper. However, Tomas and Rebeka and a couple of the boys came. Tomas brought the saws he had sharpened for us. Rebeka wanted some yarn. Then Daddy had Tomas carry water in from the drum outside and clean out the gutter. While they were here, Miriam came to get some yarn. I got the cookies in the oven and did the dishes while Tomas was still working. Then sat down with the family for a while until they left. David came, too, before they left. He is here for Bible school. They are having Bible school in the evening while they use the morning hours to work on the house.
“For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.” Jeremiah 4:22
“3O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return. 4Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.” Jeremiah 5:3,4
“Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.” Jeremiah 5:25
“The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?” Jeremiah 5:31
March 16. No rain last night or today. However, we weren’t able to do any work on the house as we need to get this house torn down first. And before we do that, we need to get stuff moved up to Kelly’s house. Kelly’s family worked today on cleaning the other house. Apekio was here around supper time and said she helped them.
This morning we did a little packing, but it is hard to do much more until other stuff gets moved out of the house. I finished up the checking of Owena Matthew chapter 9. Daddy and I worked for a while on checking Pidgin Luke — finished chapter 2.
This afternoon, I started putting Daddy’s notes on “Knowing the Will of God” in the computer so he can give them to the Bible school students. I thought he had typed them in before but couldn’t find them anywhere. David was here working on Owena Mark in the other computer.
“Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.” Jeremiah 8:7
“And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:3
“23Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:23,24
